Arkansas man charged in Herrick Twp. accident
Sean B. Brown, 20, of Conway, Ark. has been charged with driving at an unsafe speed relating to an Aug. 28 crash on Mercur Hill Road in Herrick Township.
Police said Brown crashed a 2009 Nissan Titan after attempting to negotiate a right hand curve in the road and failing to keep control of his vehicle.
Traveling west at the time of the incident, Brown crossed into the east bound lane and struck a guard rail head on.
After hitting the guard rail, Brown's vehicle then struck some small trees and shrubbery in the area before coming to a rest, police said.
Brown was uninjured during the accident that resulted in his vehicle being towed from the scene.
DUI charges
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Fredrick B. Peake, Jr., 46, of Waverly, N.Y., by state police, on July 13, on State Route 6 in Burlington Township.
Peake has also been charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, failing to stay in his lane, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and driving without a seat belt.
Police said at the time of his arrest, Peake had a blood alcohol content of .216 percent.
Peake has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Nov. 1 for a preliminary hearing.
Misty Sue Post, 36, of Ulster, by state police, on Aug. 25, on State Route 220 in Monroeton Borough.
Post has also been charged with failing to stay in her lane and careless driving.
Police said at the time of her arrest, Post had a blood alcohol content of .216 percent.
Post has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Oct. 23 for a preliminary hearing.
Driving without interlock system
Cody Alan Rosich, 29, of Athens has been charged with operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock system relating to a Aug. 31 incident on State Route 220 in North Towanda Township.
According to police, Rosich was spotted driving a 2006 Saturn Ion in excess of the posted 55 mph speed limit. After state police initiated a traffic stop, Rosich admitted that he knew he was not permitted to operate the vehicle, police said.
Rosich has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Oct. 30 for a preliminary hearing.
Stolen check cashed
Nicholas Scott Campbell, 29, of Chemung, N.Y. has been charged with access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and identity theft relating to an incident that occurred between June 1 and July 8 in Ulster Township.
According to police, Campbell stole two checks from a family member and wrote one of them out to himself for $300.
Campbell has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Oct. 9 for a preliminary hearing.
Mailbox damaged in Wysox area
State police said they are tying to determine who damaged a mailbox at 12:10 a.m. Monday at 1959 Echo Beach Road in the Wysox area.
The mailbox belongs to a 41-year-old man, police said.
The suspect's vehicle might be red, police said.

Man charged with aggravated assault in Towanda Twp.
Joel Matthew Schoonover, 27, is accused of striking 58-year-old Laurie Alan Wood in the face with a metal oven rack, police said.
The assault occurred on Sept. 4 at a location along Bridge Street Hill Road in Towanda Township after the two had gotten into an argument, police said.
Wood, 58, told police that he had suffered a broken nose, according to a criminal complaint filed against Schoonover in Towanda District Court.
During the incident, Schoonover also threatened to "burn up" his grandmother and the house where she lives, police said.
After Wood called the state police to report the incident, Schoonover fled the scene on an ATV, with a bandana concealing his face, police said.
Schoonover, whose last known address is in Towanda, has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, and flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, police said.
Schoonover was arraigned by Wysox Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Sept. 5. Schoonover was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
On Wednesday, Schoonover waived his preliminary hearing in Towanda District Court. Therefore, Schoonover's case has been transferred to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, where he will be arraigned on Oct. 3.
Wysox man faces charges after accident
Todd D. Maynard, 37, of Wysox did not exchange information with another driver after the two were involved in a motor vehicle accident on Woodside Road in Monroe Township, police said.
Maynard initially did not stop after the accident, state police said. And when the other driver located Maynard a short time later and tried to exchange information with him, a passenger in Maynard's vehicle began yelling at the other driver, saying it was the other driver's fault, police said.
Maynard then drove away without exchanging information, police said.
The accident occurred at 7 p.m. on Aug. 18, state police at Towanda said.
As a result of this incident, Maynard has been charged with accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property, limitations on overtaking on the left, and duty to give information and render aid, police said.
Maynard has been sent a summons which orders him to appear in Towanda District Court on Oct. 9.
Man fined
Alex Lee Castle, 21, of 350 John Deere Lane, Canton, who was charged with simple assault and harassment for an incident in June in Canton Township, had his offenses moved to a non-traffic fine, plus court costs, during a preliminary hearing, according to Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.
Castle had been charged with the assault of Amber Kascsak, no age or address given, according to court papers. The papers note that the incident occurred sometime between June 9-10 in Canton Township.
Man waives hearing on DUI
David Carl Taylor, Jr., 34, of 4551 Mountain Ave., Troy, has waived his preliminary hearing to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas on DUI and other charges for an October 2012 crash in Troy Township, according to Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.
Taylor also had been charged with driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, a lane violation, a driving while texting violation, a speeding violation, careless driving, and failing to give immediate notice of an accident to the police department for a one-vehicle crash in October 2012 on Route 14 in Troy Township. In addition, he was charged with possessing a small amount of marijuana for personal use and using, or possessing with the intent to use, drug paraphernalia, namely a wooden case containing a metal pipe. He had fled the scene of the crash, according to an affidavit.
Domestic dispute in Rome leaves both participants charged
Darrell Dennis Mosier, 25, of Rome and Kristie Marie Gehring, 31, of Rome have been charged with simple assault and harassment relating to a Sept. 9 incident that occurred at their home in Rome Borough.
According to police, a verbal argument between the two turned physical which left both with minor injuries.
Mosier said Gehring struck him in the face with a glass plate during the incident.
Gehring said Mosier grabbed hold of her and threw her against a dresser.
Both were arraigned on Sept. 10 before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton and remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Mosier and Gehring on Sept. 17 before Judge Wheaton.
