Vehicle overturns in Standing Stone Twp.
Cody D. Coberly, 18, of Wyalusing suffered a minor injury in a motor vehicle accident in Standing Stone Township, police said.
Coberly was driving north on Rummerfield Creek Road when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of his 2000 Toyota Tundra on a left-hand curve, police said.
The vehicle left the east side of the road, struck a guardrail, proceeded northeast, traveled off an embankment and overturned, police said.
The accident occurred at 6:40 a.m. on Oct. 30, state police said.
Coberly, who was wearing a seat belt, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, state police at Towanda said.
Scattering rubbish occurs in Towanda
A 72-year-man reported recently that someone had discarded bundles of used roofing shingles on his property on Castle Hill Road in Towanda, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. on Nov. 1, state police said.

Towanda teen uninjured in accident
Kira M. Thomas, 18, of Towanda was uninjured when she was involved in a recent motor vehicle accident in Wysox Township, police said.
The accident occurred at 9:25 p.m. on Nov. 6 when Thomas was driving a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire south on state Route 1035, police said.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and traveled into the western berm, police said. Thomas lost control of the vehicle, which struck a ditch, police said.
The vehicle had to be towed from the scene, state police at Towanda said.
Computer stolen from Towanda restaurant
State police said they are investigating the theft of a laptop computer at the Burger King restaurant, 385 York Ave., Towanda.
The computer, which belongs to Burger King, was stolen on Nov. 6, state police at Towanda said.
Burglary occurs in Monroe Boro
A burglary recently occurred at a vacant home at 453 James Monroe Avenue in Monroe Borough, police said.
The residence is owned by Sally Lee Kinsman of Towanda, police said.
The burglar or burglar entered the residence through an unlocked window sometime between 5 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 7 p.m. on Nov. 6, police said.
The burglar or burglars stole two flat-screen TVs and exited the residence through a rear door, state police said.

Burglary occurs at Monroeton business
State police said they are trying to find out who burglarized Applebee's Roadside Market at the intersection of U.S. Route 220 and state Route 414 in Monroeton, police said.
Someone entered the rear of the pet shop using a crowbar to pry a door open, police said.
The burglar then took fish tank accessories, fish food, and fish from the business, police said.
The burglary occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday, police said.

DUI charges
The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Sullivan County:
Anthony Paul Christensen, 52, of Dushore, by the state police, on Sunday, on state Route 487 in Cherry Township. Christensen's blood alcohol content was over the legal limit.
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Gregory Scott Brown, 28, of Sayre, by Sayre Borough police, on Oct. 24, at North Lehigh Avenue and Allison Street in Sayre. Brown has also been charged with failure to keep right. A blood test revealed the presence of Clonazepam in Brown's blood and a blood alcohol content of .06 percent on the day of Brown's arrest. Brown has been sent a summons to appear Dec. 3 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
Jeffrey D. Welch, 29, of Waverly, by Sayre Borough police, on Nov. 3, on Spring Street in Sayre. Welch has also been charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and operating a motor vehicle with a malfunctioning light. A blood alcohol test revealed that Welch's blood alcohol content was .17 percent on the day of his arrest. Welch has been sent a summons to appear Dec. 10 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
David Joseph Conklin, 23, of Milan, by Athens Township police, on Oct. 22, at the Route 220 bypass in Athens Township. Conklin has also been charged with failure to keep right, careless driving, failure to drive within a single lane, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, obstructing administration of law enforcement and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. A blood alcohol test revealed that Conklin's blood alcohol content was .22 percent on the day of his arrest. Conklin has been sent a summons to appear Dec. 10 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
Sayre man charged
A Sayre man was recently arraigned in district court on drug charges related to a May 2011 incident.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Sayre Borough police charged Steven Charles Mayo II, 28, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said Mayo was charged following investigation into an incident that occurred May 17, 2011 at a Chemung Street residence. A search of the residence turned up a small amount of marijuana inside a metal storage container, police said.
Mayo was arraigned Nov. 12 and released from the Bradford County Jail on non-monetary bail. Mayo's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 19.
Man charged with assault
A Sayre man was recently arrested by borough police on a charge of simple assault.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Matthew Todd Williams, 33, was also charged with simple assault by menace, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said Williams engaged in a physical altercation with a female Nov. 11 at a North Lehigh Avenue residence, causing injury to her mouth, head, neck and right arm. A search of Williams turned up two pipes used to ingest controlled substances, police said.
Williams was arraigned Nov. 12 by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. Williams' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 19.
Driver cited in MVA
State police at Towanda recently investigated a one-car motor vehicle accident in Litchfield Township.
According to information from state police, on Nov. 1, an eastbound 1993 Ford Ranger operated by Edith M. Cassellbury, 46, of Sayre, lost control while negotiating a left curve on Cotton Hollow Road.
Police said the Ranger traveled onto the berm, struck a tree with its front passenger tire and rolled onto its passenger side at a location west of the road's intersection with Grimley Road.
Police said Cassellbury had minor injuries but was not transported to a local hospital. Police cited Cassellbury with failure to stay in lane.
State police were assisted at the scene by Furman and Jones Towing and the Litchfield Township Volunteer Fire Company.
Police investigate sword theft
State police at Towanda are investigating a theft from an Ulster Township property.
According to state police information, an unknown suspect removed a cutlass sword from a Milan Road property sometime between Aug. 1 and Nov. 3. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.
Man charged with assault
An Athens man was recently charged with simple assault and harassment by state police at Towanda.
According to information from state police, Joseph Dees, 24, was involved in an altercation with a male victim Nov. 6 at a residence on Sheshequin Road in Sheshequin Township.
While arguing, Dees struck the victim on the side of his face with a closed fist, police said. The victim then fell to the ground and was taken to Towanda Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said.
Man charged with sexual assault
Lynn Morris Bastion, 54, of 317 E. Main St., Canton, faces a preliminary hearing at 2:15 p.m. today before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy on charges of sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault without consent, and indecent assault without consent of other for an incident that took place Oct. 22 at his residence, according to court papers.
According to an affidavit, Canton Police Officer Joshua Heckman received a call around 3:55 p.m. Oct. 22 from a 21-year-old man, who said he had been sexually assaulted earlier in the afternoon by a man named Lynn Bastion at Bastion's residence in the borough.
Wilcox said Bastion's unsecure bail was set at $35,000.
Residents face hearing on drug charges
Two Troy residents face preliminary hearings today before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy on charges of "possession of a small amount of marijuana only for personal use," according to court papers.
They are Ryan James Shaw, 26, and Angela Kendal Gray, 18, both of 369 Elmira St., Apt. 5, Troy. The charges were filed following an incident that took place at 8:01 p.m. Nov. 5 at their residence, where police were called for a domestic disturbance, according to an affidavit. Following the discovery of a substance in a tissue that was identified as marijuana, Troy Police Officer Michael Northup told them he would be filing charges on both of them for possession of a small amount of marijuana. Wilcox said their unsecure bail was set at $1,500 for each person. Gray's hearing is at 2:45 p.m. and Shaw's hearing is at 2:30 p.m.
Woman faces hearing
Taylor Jean-Lynn Machmer, 19, of 2896 Lower Mountain Rd., Canton, faces a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 20 before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy on a charge of possession drug paraphernalia, according to court papers.
The papers note that she is charged with a violation of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act and used, or possessed with the intent to use, drug paraphernalia, namely three syringes and a multi-colored glass bowl.
Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Mark Sadowski said he was dispatched to her residence for a report of a disturbance, when the items were discovered.
