Shunk man's 3-wheeler is stolen
William Morgan, 43, of Shunk is the victim of a recent theft, police said.
Morgan bought a 1985 Honda 3-wheeler from a person in Arizona for $1,250 and paid another person $200 to transport it to Pennsylvania, police said.
The transporter picked up the 3-wheeler sometime during the last week of October and has failed to deliver it, state police said.
State police at Laporte said they are continuing to investigate the theft.
Wysox woman cited for harassment
BobbiJo Dinelli, 41, of Wysox has been cited for harassment following a recent incident in Towanda Township, police said.
The incident began when Dinelli walked over to a 27-year-old woman in the Wayside bar and began to argue with her, police said.
Dinelli then made physical contact with the 27-year-old woman, state police at Towanda said.
Towanda address used in international fraud scheme
An address in Towanda was used in a recent fraud scheme, police said.
State police at Towanda said incident occurred as follows:
A 49-year-old woman from Racine, Wisc., agreed to sell an Apple iPod Touch to a buyer on eBay for $400.
The woman shipped the item to an address in Towanda, Pa.
The woman later discovered that the buyer's PayPal account was fraudulent and was not paid for the item.
Police determined that a female Towanda resident had met a male individual online who asked her to receive various packages for him.
The male then asked the Towanda resident to ship the packages to an address in Nigeria.
The Towanda resident was not aware that a crime was actually being committed by the person she met online, state police said.
No charges are being filed against the Towanda resident regarding this incident, police said.
The above scheme is a common Internet scam being committed in the United States, state police at Towanda said. The perpetrators of this crime often use stolen credit cards to purchase merchandise on the Internet, police said.
They then ask unsuspecting individuals that they meet online to re-ship this merchandise, often overseas, because the seller will not ship to foreign addresses.
Anyone who is a victim of an Internet crime can file a complaint with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crime Complaint Center, otherwise known as IC3, at www.ic3.gov, and/or their local or state law enforcement agency, state police said.
Towanda man accused of selling heroin
Bryant Lee Engle, 24, of Towanda is accused of selling nine small bags of heroin to an individual for $180, police said.
The sale occurred on March 27 at a pull-off along Weston Road in Monroe Township, police said.
Engle has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, and possession of a controlled substance, state police said.
Engle waived his preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for Oct. 30 in Towanda District Court, court records show.
Engle's case has therefore been transferred to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas.
A plea hearing for Engle has been scheduled for Nov. 25 in Common Pleas Court, court records show.
Towanda man charged with assault
Rodney Tyler Russell, 49, of Towanda is accused of throwing a woman to the ground, which caused injuries to her right elbow, left forearm, and both knees, police said.
During the same incident, Russell made a small scrape on her wrist with a razor knife and threatened to use the knife to cut an artery in her leg, police said.
The victim was treated for her injuries at Memorial Hospital in Towanda, police said.
The incident occurred on Nov. 4 at the Chestnut Hills apartment complex in Towanda Township, police said.
Russell has been charged with three counts of simple assault and harassment, police said.
Russell was arraigned on Nov. 4 by Wysox Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton. Russell was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Russell's preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for Nov. 13 in Towanda District Court, has been postponed to Nov. 27.
