Towanda man charged with assault
Sean Patrick Allen, 22, of Towanda has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, and harassment, police said.
The charges stem from a Dec. 26 incident in which Allen punched a female in the right eye and said he might slit her throat, police said.
The victim's right eye was swollen, and black and blue, state police at Towanda said.
The incident occurred at the residence of Allen's father, on Patton Hill Road in Towanda Township, police said.
Allen's preliminary hearing, which was originally scheduled for Jan. 8 in Towanda District Court, has been postponed to Feb. 14.
Man charged in thefts from vehicles in Towanda
Edward Lichtenfels. 21. of Towanda was part of a group of individuals who illegally entered vehicles on the night of Dec. 9 in Towanda Borough, police said.
The group stole cash, satellite radios, iPods and other items from the vehicles, which were located on Walnut Street and in other locations in the borough, Towanda police said.
Besides participating in the illegal entry of the vehicles, Lichtenfels helped plan the thefts, police said.
Lichtenfels was charged with criminal conspiracy to commit theft from a motor vehicle, criminal solicitation to commit theft from a motor vehicle, attempted theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, corruption of minors, and loitering and prowling at nighttime, police said.
"Most, if not all, of the vehicles were left unlocked" by the owners, Towanda Police Chief Randy Epler said.
Charges have also been filed against other individuals in connection with the thefts, Epler said.
Lichtenfels was arrested and then arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Jan. 10. Lichtenfels was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Lichtenfels waived his preliminary hearing in Towanda District Court, which had been scheduled for Jan. 15.
Therefore, Lichtenfels' case has been transferred to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, where he is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 6.
Vehicle strikes tree in Overton Twp.
Trevor D. James, 48, of Towanda was uninjured in a recent motor vehicle accident in Overton Township, police said.
James, who was traveling west on Cahill Road, went off the right side of the road on a left curve, police said.
The vehicle then struck a tree, state police at Towanda said.
The accident occurred at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, police said.
No injuries in two vehicle accident
Susan M. Lipsey, 33, of Berwick has been charged by state police with a summary violation for her role in a two vehicle accident on Jan. 10 in Wilmot Township that resulted in no injuries.
According to police, Lipsey was traveling on Wilmot Road when she crossed the double yellow line and struck a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria operated by Peter T. Smith, 25, of Clarks Summit.
Neither person involved in the incident and both individuals were wearing their seat belt at the time of the accident, police said.
Theft in New Albany
Police are investigating an incident of theft that occurred on Ambrosius Road in New Albany on Jan. 7 at a private residence.
Police said unknown persons entered a house through an unlocked back door and stole a gold necklace, gold ring, gold earrings and a diamond ring.

Unknown person tampers with road sign
Police are continuing to investigate the report of a road sign being removed from the side of Battlecreek Road in Windham Township.
The incident occurred between midnight and 7 a.m. on Jan. 21, police said.

Mailbox stolen
Robert W. Vannoy, 38, of Troy, told state police at Towanda that his grey plastic mailbox was stolen for its post outside his residence sometime between Jan. 10-11 on Orchard Hill Road in Troy Township.

Wheel damaged
A 48-year-old Towanda man told state police at Towanda that someone damaged his automobile wheel recently on Madigan Road in Burlington Township.
Police said the lug nuts were loosened, causing the wheel to be damaged.
Money stolen
A 48-year-old woman told state police at Towanda that someone unknown to her stole her money in a telephone scam.
Police said the incident took place at 8:40 a.m. Dec. 9 on Jenkins Road in Columbia Cross Roads, Springfield Township.
Siding damaged
Shawn R. Champaign, 34, of Canton, told state police at Mansfield that someone damaged the siding on his storage building and fled the scene sometime between 5 p.m. Jan. 9 and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 11 on Back Road in Union Township, Tioga County, Pa.

No injuries
State police at Towanda said Natasha M. Focht, 19, of Granville Summit, was not injured in a one-vehicle accident at 9:38 a.m. Jan. 2 on Leona Road in Springfield Township.
Police said she was traveling south in the right lane of Leona Road, and lost control of her Chevrolet Cavalier, as a result of driving at a speed that was excessive for the given roadway conditions of snow and ice. According to police, the vehicle left the travel lanes and went onto the western berm of Leona Road, struck a tree with its passenger side rear door area and came to final rest on the western berm of Leona Road, facing west.
