Man charged with criminal mischief
A Sayre man was recently charged with criminal mischief by Athens Township police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Mason K. Runyon, 18, was also charged with possessing instruments of crime, receiving stolen property, retail theft and disorderly conduct.
Police said that at about 10:50 p.m. Jan. 19, Runyon shot a Colt Defender BB gun into a glass door at the Kmart store on Elmira Street, shattering the glass, and shot several BBs into a pickup truck owned by Advance Auto Parts also located on Elmira Street. The total damage caused by Runyon is estimated at $1435.78, police said.
According to police, Runyon also removed a laser sight from the Walmart store on Elmira Street valued at $7.97.
Following his arraignment, Runyon was remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. Runyon's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 18.
Two arrested following investigation
Two men were recently arrested by Sayre Borough police following investigation into a Feb. 5 incident in the borough.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Andrew Joseph Kizale, 24, of Athens, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension. Police said Curtis Andrew Owen, 23, of Gillett, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and arrested on a warrant out of Indiana, Pa.
Police said the two were arrested after Owen, who police said was walking in the roadway of Desmond Street at about 2:40 a.m. Feb. 5, entered his Desmond Street apartment to find identification to present to officers and did not come out after several minutes.
Police walked toward the front door and observed Kizale, who told police Owen was hiding in the apartment because he had a warrant for his arrest, according to police. Police found a bindle of a substance believed to be heroin on Owen's person, police said. Police also found 13 bags of heroin packaged for sale, several hypodermic needles and a metal spoon with burnt residue in Kizale's possession, police said.
Following their arraignments, Owen and Kizale were both remanded to the Bradford County Jail, Owen on $5,000 bail and Kizale on $50,000 bail. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for Feb. 18.
Towanda man charged with aggravated assault
Joshua W. Kinner, 27, of Towanda has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment, police said.
The charges stem from a Feb. 3 incident in which Kinner allegedly assaulted a 31-year-old Towanda woman, police said.
The victim, who is approximately 10 weeks pregnant, suffered a badly swollen eye, swelling to her nose, and a bloody lip, state police said.
The incident occurred at Kinner's residence on Reuter Boulevard, state police at Towanda said.
