CHESTERFIELD - The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs help from the public to identify and locate a suspect in a larceny case.

Around noon on Thursday, May 16, a woman was shopping at Jo-Ann Fabrics in the Westchester Commons Shopping Center. As she was checking out, she took her purple iPad out of her purse to get to her wallet. Unfortunately, she placed a sales ad on top of the iPad, and, because it was covered, she walked out of the store without it. Soon after, she realized what she had done and went back into the store to find it, but it was nowhere to be found.

Surveillance footage later revealed that a different woman used the cart the victim had been using. This woman walked around the store, then left without purchasing anything and walked out with the iPad. She was a heavyset white female, appearing to be in her 40s or 50s. She wore a blue sundress and had her hair pulled back in a bun. Pictures of the suspect can be seen on the Crime of the Week page at www.crimesolvers.net.
