Criminal mischief occurs in Herrick Twp.

State police at Towanda reported a recent case of criminal mischief at a 56-year-old man's residence in Herrick Township.

The rear door of the residence was found to be damaged and tampered with by an unknown object, police said.

The incident occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and 8:40 a.m. Saturday on Rummerfield Creek Road, state police said.

The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Thomas Anthony Zaleski, 42, of Towanda, by the state police, on Sunday, on state Route 2027 in Towanda Borough. Zaleski's blood alcohol content was .156 percent.

Mountain bike found in Towanda

Towanda Borough police say they've recovered a special edition mountain bike on Monday at the intersection of Pratt Avenue and the Merrill Parkway in the borough.

The bike's primary color is black and it has an additional secondary color, police said.

The owner may claim it by providing additional details describing the bike, police said.

Vehicle vandalized in Wysox Twp.

The rear window of a 61-year-old man's vehicle was recently damaged by an unknown object when it was parked in Wysox Township, police said.

The vandalism occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. on Feb. 18 in the 200 block of Ennis Lane, state police said.

Thefts reported in N. Towanda

A known suspect is thought to have stolen approximately $1,200 recently from a 78-year-old woman's apartment in the Colonial Towers in North Towanda Township, police said.

The suspect is also thought to have stolen prescription medication from the victim, police said.

The thefts occurred at 3 p.m. on Feb. 19, state police said.

Theft occurs in Monroe Twp.

State police said they are trying to determine who stole multiple hot water baseboard heaters from a location on Brocktown Road in Monroe Township.

The theft occurred sometime between Dec. 16 and Feb. 1, state police said.

Sayre woman charged with drug possession

A Sayre woman was recently charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia by Athens Township police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Amber Marie Morgan, 19, was found to be in possession of morphine and oxycodone pills without a prescription during a Feb. 16 traffic stop on Sheshequin Road. Police said Morgan was also in possession of a digital scale and a small glass container with marijuana residue.

Morgan's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 25.

Waverly man arrested

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Chad M. Burgess, 24, was arrested at 5:53 p.m. Feb. 21 following a traffic stop for an equipment violation on Main Street in Owego.

Police said Burgess was found to have a suspended license for failure to pay a fine in Waverly and also had two warrants for his arrest.

Burgess was issued traffic citations for Owego Village Court, then was turned over to Waverly police on the warrants, police said.

Waverly police make arrests

Waverly village police recently made the following arrests, according to information from the Waverly Police Department:

Matthew T. Plymell, 32, of St. Louis, Mo., on Feb. 21, for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and related traffic charges. Police said Plymell was arrested following a traffic stop on Waverly Street. Plymell is scheduled to appear Feb. 25 in Waverly Village Court to answer the charges.

Nicholas S. Smith, 45, of Troy, on Feb. 16, for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and related traffic charges. Police said Smith was arrested following a traffic stop on Cayuta Avenue. Smith was released and scheduled to appear Feb. 20 in Waverly Village Court.

Pauline Baker, 34, of Chemung, N.Y., on Feb. 8, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle without a license. Police said Baker was charged after she drove to the Waverly police station knowing she had a suspended driver's license.

Tammy Bacon, 49, of Gillett, on Feb. 22, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police said Bacon was cited following a traffic stop on Broad Street.

Brittany Lowell, 27, of Athens, on Feb. 17, on a warrant for issuing a bad check to a local business. Police said Lowell turned herself in to police.

Mary Jane Pettit, 23, of Chemung, N.Y., on Feb. 16, on a bench warrant out of Nichols Town Court and New York state police at Owego. Pettit was released to state police for further court action.

Marc D. Eberlin, 28, of Sayre, on Feb. 15, on three counts of writing bad checks. Police said Eberlin was extradited from the Bradford County Jail and arraigned in Waverly Village Court. Eberlin was then remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.
