Sayre woman charged with forgery
A Sayre woman was recently charged with forgery by Sayre Borough police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Ashley Nicole Pollox, 25, was also charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Police said Pollox removed a check from a man's house Jan. 13, wrote it out to herself for $220 and had a female cash it for her at a borough bank.
Pollox was arraigned March 13 and released from the Bradford County Jail on non-monetary bail. Pollox's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 25.
Purse taken
A 26-year-old Canton woman told state police at Towanda her purse was taken out of her vehicle at approximately 5:30 p.m. March 9 on De Morgan Acres Lane in Canton.
Police said the vehicle was outside her residence at the time and the purse was a black Chicago Bears purse with credit cards and personal information.
Chainsaw removed
A 33-year-old man told state police at Towanda that someone removed a chainsaw from the 1300 block of Glory Barn Road sometime between noon Feb. 28 and noon March 2 in Canton Township.
Police said the item was not secured and it appears no damage was done to the property.
