Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett has updated the status of the following criminal cases:

SENTENCES

Zachary Lawson, 28, Westfield, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from one year to five years, and a fine of $3000, for the offense of Involuntary Manslaughter.

Chief County Detective Kyle Wisel, who was Chief of the Troy Borough Police Department in 2011 when the crime occurred, arrested Lawson for the offense in 2013. The charges arose from the death of Michael Virgin, 29, of Troy, who had purchased heroin from Lawson shortly before his death.

Nathan Whittmore, 22, New Albany, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 25 months to 10 years, for the offense of Aggravated Indecent Assault. Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Whittmore following investigation of an incident that occurred in New Albany Borough. Whittmore will be under a lifetime required to register as a convicted sex offender.

Anthony Stutzenstine, 33, Van Etten, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from six months to 23 months and probation for two years, for the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance, a felony. Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Stutzenstine for the offense in September 2013.

Brian May, 48, Canton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from nine months to five years, and a fine of $1500, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper Michael Mislevy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested May following investigation of an incident that occurred in Leroy Township.

Daniel E. Stroud, 33, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of one year and a fine of $150, for the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Stroud for the offense in August 2013.

Billy W. Collum, 31, Golden Meadow, La., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 90 days to 23 months, 29 days and a fine of $1500; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer John Hennessy of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Collum for the offense in March 2013.

Christopher J. Adams, 24, LeRaysville, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of two years (consecutive to ARD currently in effect), for the offense of Recklessly Endangering another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Michael Mislevy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Adams following investigation of an incident that occurred in Stevens Township.

Kristen M. Kinner, 23, Wyalusing, Pa., was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for 18 months and a fine of $200 for the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Anthony Stempien of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kinner following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Borough.

John W. Vanderpool, 53, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for four days for Public Drunkenness, a summary and Probation for a term of 24 months for the offense of Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor. Vanderpool was jailed for four days after his arrest.

Daniel M. Taylor, 21, of Sugar Run, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 30 days and a fine of $150, for the summary offenses of Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief. Officer Matthew Chamberlain of the Laceyville Borough Police Department arrested Taylor for the offenses in May 2013.

Christopher G. Carlisle, 25, Monroeton, Pa., to Probation for a term of two years and a fine of $300, for the offenses of two counts of Drug Paraphernalia, each a misdemeanor. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Carlisle for the offense in August and October 2013, and Trooper Michael Trebendis, respectively, of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Carlisle for the other offenses in August and October 2013.

Frederick D. Bombacie, 58, of Wysox, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to six months and a fine of $750; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Ryan Edsell of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bombacie for the offense in September 2013.

Neil T. Fox, 31, of Sellersville, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 72 hours to six months and Probation for a term of two years and a fine of $1500, he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, for the offenses of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, and two counts of Recklessly Endangering another Person, each a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Michael Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Fox following investigation of an incident that occurred in West Burlington Township.

GUILTY PLEAS

Jack Talada Jr, 36, Rome, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Talada will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Talada for the offense on September 2013.

Jeffrey D. Welch, 29, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, and Recklessly Endangering another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree.

Welch will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Welch for the offense on November 2013.

Raymond S. Saxer, 35, Dushore, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, of the first degree and Receiving Stolen Property, a felony of the third degree.

Saxer will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Mislevy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Saxer following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ulster Township.

PLACEMENT IN THE ACCELERATED REHABILITATIVE DISPOSITION (ARD) PROGRAM

Kelli Ann Sinsabaugh, 26, Waverly, N.Y., charged with the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Sinsabaugh will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Sinsabaugh must perform community service and undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation with treatment as required.

Lee Ray, 40, Canton, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Ray will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Ray must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel as conditions of ARD placement; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days.

Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department filed the charges in Sept. 26, 2013 for the offense in Towanda Borough.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently pled guilty and were sentenced in Bradford County Magisterial District Courts:

Rebecca Aseline, 32, Gillett, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $200 and court costs. Sergeant James Shaw of the Athens Township Police Department cited Aseline for the offense on Dec. 31, 2013, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township at Lockhart Street.

Dawn Miller, 30, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $200 and court costs. Sergeant James Shaw of the Athens Township Police Department cited Miller for the offense in Dec. 31, 2013, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township at Lockhart Street.

Walter Bump, 25, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Harassment, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to 60 days in the Bradford County Correctional Facility to run concurrently with any sentence(s) currently in effect and payment of restitution in the approximate amount of $1500 and court costs. Trooper Steve Steransky of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bump for the offense in January 2014.

Kaleb D. Vroman, 20, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vroman for the offense in December 2012.

Nicholas Buskirk, 30, Ulster, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to pay a fines and costs. Trooper Sean Cooney Pennsylvania State Police arrested Buskirk for the offense in December 2013.

Dereck C. Davis, 24, Gillett, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to fines and costs. Trooper William McDermott of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Davis for the offense in January 2014.

Richard E. Gunter, 44, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Harassment, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to time served in the Bradford County Correctional Facility at time of sentencing on Feb. 19, 2014. Officer Michael Northrup of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Gunter for the offense in February 2014.

Tabitha Vanderpool, 34, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to a fine of $50 and court costs.

Trooper Michael Tribendis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vanderpool for the offense on July, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Franklin Township.

William Wilkerson, 25, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to five days in jail plus a fine of $100 and court costs. Officer Joshua Werner of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Wilkerson for the offense in Feb. 27, 2014, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Robert Lafy, 45, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 30 days and court costs.

Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Lafy for the offense on Jan. 7, 2014, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Borough. Mary Williams, entered a plea of guilty this date to one count of Harassment for sentence of $100 fine and costs of court. Sentence to include payment of restitution.

Clint Bergman, 34, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge, Fred Wheaton to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to pay a fine and count costs. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bergman for the offense in June 2013, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Township.

Bryan R. Benninger, 22, Troy, Pa., entered pleas of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offenses of two counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking, each a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to pay fines, restitution and court costs. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Benninger for the offense.

Edward Caywood, 75, North Carolina, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Indecent Assault on a minor and Corruption of Minors, a felony of the third degree. Caywood will be sentence in June, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department and an evaluation by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board. Trooper Brandon Allis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Caywood following investigation of an incident that occurred in Windham Township.

Joseph Jennings, 28, Gillett, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge, Timothy Clark to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentence to a fine of $50 and court costs. Officer Ryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Jennings for the offense in Feb. 11, 2014, following investigation of an assault that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Kyle Netherton, 24, Wysox, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Timothy Clark, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and a fine of $100 and court costs. Trooper Kevin Hibson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Netherton for the offense on May 28, 2013, following investigation of a Possession that occurred in Sheshequin Township.

Rebecca Zwrelein, 48, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to a fine of $250, and court costs.

Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Zwrelein for the offense on Nov. 20, 2013, following investigation of a Theft that occurred in Athens Township.

Saul Cadena, 29, Elk City, Okla., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Timothy Clark of Disorderly Conduct, a summary offense and Public Drunkenness, also a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $600 and court costs. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Cadena for the offense on March 7, 2014, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough at the Laundry Mat parking lot.

Joshua Kinner, 28, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to fines and restitution in the amount of $2444.58 and court costs. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Kinner for the offense on Dec. 26, 2013, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough at State Street.
