RICHMOND - Zest Fest, FeedMore's annual fundraising gala was held on Feb. 22 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Fine food from 20 of the area's stop chefs, dancing to En' Novation, Virginia's best wineries and craft breweries, a live auction and raffles made this an evening to remember. Petersburg Sheriff's Office deputies volunteered at the Zest Fest this year in various capacities.
FeedMore is Central Virginia's hunger-relief leader made up of the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia and the Community Kitchen. Working together to efficiently and effectively fight hunger to enhance lives in the community. FeedMore's programs provide hunger relief to the region's most vulnerable populations, particularly children, families and seniors.
FeedMore services local children who need a nutritional foundation to learn and gown; Central Virginia families struggling to provide for themselves; senior neighbors who need food and services for health and independence; and the region's most vulnerable people.
The Petersburg Sheriff's Office also delivers meals to the elderly with FeedMore's Meals on Wheels program weekly.
