License plate theft
State police are investigating the report of a theft that occurred sometime between March 1 and April 4 at a construction site on State Route 476 in Stevens Township.
Police said an unknown person or persons stole a license plate.

Minor caught with drug paraphernalia
A 16-year-old male from New Albany was found in possession of a broken glass pipe with marijuana-like residue in it on April 4 at the Wyalusing Valley Jr/Sr High School, state police said.
The incident remains under investigation, and charges are pending the results of lab testing of the residue, police said.
Motor vehicle theft in Rome
According to a press release from state police, an unknown person removed a green and brown colored 1997 GMC Safari van from a victim's property on North Orwell Road in Rome Township between the dates of March 30 and April 3.

Police investigate burglary
State police at Towanda are investigating a burglary in Smithfield Township.
According to state police, sometime between March 9 and April 4, an unknown actor or actors pried open the back door of a Berwick Turnpike residence with a shovel found at the site. The actor or actors removed a flashlight from an upstairs bedroom, police said.

Theft reported
State police at Towanda are investigating a theft incident in Ulster Township.
According to state police, a black Craftsman automotive battery charger was removed from the driveway of an Ulster Road residence sometime on April 2 or April 3.

DUI charges
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Casey Lewis Serfas, 23, of Gillett, by Athens Borough police, on March 29, on West Pine Street in Athens. Serfas has also been charged with failure to keep right and failure to use required position and method of turning. A blood alcohol test revealed that Serfas' blood alcohol content was .16 percent on the day of his arrest. Serfas has been sent a summons to appear May 6 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
Gerald Vernon Brown Jr., 65, of Athens, by Athens Township police, on April 1, on Elmira Street in Athens Township. Brown has also been charged with failing to immediately stop at the scene of an accident involving property damage. A blood alcohol test revealed that Brown's blood alcohol content was .14 percent on the day of his arrest. Brown has been sent a summons to appear May 6 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
