DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Ronald David Yorgey, 43, of Wysox, by state police, on State Route 6, on March 9.

Yorgey was also charged with driving without a license, failing to stay in his lane, careless driving, having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, driving at night without headlights on and failing to use a seatbelt.

On the night of his arrest, a blood test revealed Yorgey had a blood alcohol level of .176 percent.

He has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on May 13 at 1 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.

Ashley Marie Jacobs, 25, of Rome, by state police, on LeRaysville Road, on March 15.

Jacobs was also charged with careless driving and failing to stay in her lane.

On the night of her arrest, a blood test revealed Jacobs had a blood alcohol level of .146 percent.

Police said her arrest stems from a one-vehicle accident on LeRaysville Road that left the Ford Tempo Jacob's was driving rolled over in a ditch. After the accident, she left the scene and walked to her parents' house, which was close to the scene of the crash, police said.

She has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on May 6 at 11:30 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.

George Edward Allen Jr., 36, of Towanda, by Athens Borough police, on March 22, on Riverside Drive in Athens. Allen was also charged with following too closely and careless driving. A blood alcohol test revealed that Allen's blood alcohol content was .17 percent on the day of his arrest. Allen has been sent a summons to appear May 6 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
