Bradford County Court News 4/13/2014

The Bradford County District Attorney, Daniel J. Barrett, reports that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Deziree Bouse, 29, Rome, Pa., was resentenced following revocation of a sentence of Probation to Incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from one month to 12 months and a fine of $500 for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Deputy Brian Wibirt of the Bradford County Sheriff's Department arrested Bouse for the offense in May 16, 2013.

Richard Gunter, 44, Troy, Pa., was resentenced following revocation of a sentence of Probation to a term of incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from three months to nine months and a fine of $750 for the offense of Harassment, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Trooper Mark Sadowski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gunter following investigation of an incident that occurred in Springfield Township.

John Myers, 30, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from one month to six months, and a fine of $300, for the offense of Unauthorized Use, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Donald Stringham of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Myers for the offense in April 17, 2013.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following people recently pled guilty in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Garrett Dauberman, 26, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of two counts of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Dauberman will be sentenced on May 22, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officers Daniel Thomas and John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Dauberman for the offenses in December 2013 and January 2014.

Morgan Gardner, 25, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor and Possession of a Controlled Substance, also a misdemeanor. Gardner will be sentenced on May 29, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gardner following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township on Dec. 20, 2013.

Matthew Claxton, 43 Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Claxton will be sentenced on May 29, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Edgerton of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Claxton for the offenses following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township on Dec. 15, 2013.

Brittney Ferraro, 24, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Access Device Fraud, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Ferraro will be sentenced on May 22, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Ferraro for the offense in Nov. 19, 2013.

Kenneth Beers II, 36, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Beers will be sentenced on May 22, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer George Nichols of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Beers for the offense in Oct. 26, 2013.

Joshua Kinner, 27, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Kinner will be sentenced on May 22, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kinner following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township in February 2014.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were recently accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program in the Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Amy Sherwood, 39, Addison, N.Y., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Sherwood will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Sherwood must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and she will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper Steve Steransky of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sherwood for the offense for the offense Oct. 7, 2013 in Ulster Township.

Caleb Porter, 21, Ruffs Dale, Pa., charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Porter will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Porter must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days. Trooper William McDermott of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Porter for the offense on Dec. 7, 2013 in North Towanda Township.

Bradley Potter, 58, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Potter will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Potter must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days.

Darien Lantz, 20, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Lantz will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Lantz must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 90 days. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lantz for the offense in Oct. 30, 2013 in Towanda Borough.

George Dickerson, 69, Grover, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Dickerson will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Dickerson must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days.

Trooper Matthew Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Dickerson for the offense in Sept. 28, 2013 in Canton Township.
