Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Aaron Blanton, 37, of Wyalusing, Pa., was resentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for four days to six months, following a revoke of ARD, fines and costs of $1,000, restitution of $26,016.04, he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, additional license suspension of 12 months will be imposed for refusal to submit to testing when arrested for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer John Werner of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Blanton for the offense on March 5, 2012.

Donna Holland, 53, of Gillett, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of six months, fines and costs of $250.00, buy money of $200, she will also lose her driver's license for six months for the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Holland following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Timothy Oliver Jr., 18, of Gillett, Pa., was sentenced in Bradford County Correctional Facility for two months to 23 months, 29 days, for the offense of Corruption of Minors, misdemeanor first degree. Trooper Robert Richter of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Oliver following investigation of an incident that occurred in South Creek Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following person recently entered a plea of guilty in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Brandon Ropraz, 20, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Burglary, a felony of the second degree, a Loitering and Prowling at Night, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Ropraz will be sentenced on Sept. 17, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Sergeant David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Ropraz for the offense on April 9-10, 2015.

Brandon Lane, 28, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Lane will be sentenced on Sept. 9, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Sean Flynn of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Lane for the offense on April 10, 2015.

Steven Spencer, 38, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Spencer will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Spencer following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township in February 2015.

James Wells, 45, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of nolo contendere/no contest to Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Wells will be sentenced following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A no-contest plea is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced. Trooper Peter Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wells following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Shawn McKean, 29, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months fines, costs, restitution of $150, for the offense of Obstruction of Administration of Law, misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Robert Richter of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested McKean following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Bridget Dauberman, 26, Milan, Pa., was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of nine months, fines, costs, restitution of $150, for the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Dauberman for the offense occurring on March 10, 2015.

Lynn Kinch, 58, Granville Summit, Pa., was sentenced to Probation Supervision for a term of 12 months, fines, costs, restitution of $350, for the offense of Recklessly Endangering another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Kyle Gruber of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kinch following investigation of an incident that occurred in Granville Summit Township in December 2014.

Mark Roberts, 59, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for 10 days to six months, fines, costs, restitution of $1,000, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Roberts for the offense occurring on Oct. 12, 2014.

Erin Harrigan, 32, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 24 months, fines, costs of $700, restitution of $500, for the offenses of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Tampering with Evidence, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Daniel Thomas of Athens Township and Officer Sean Flynn of Sayre Borough arrested Harrigan for the offense occurring on Jan. 31, 2015 and Dec. 19, 2014.

Michael Rought, 32, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months, fines, costs of $250, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Officer Corey McLinko of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Rought for the offense in November 2014.

Jacob Mosier, 26, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months, fines, costs of $350, for the offense of Disorderly Conduct, misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Mosier for the offense in August 2013.

Devin Hubert, 19, Athens, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 18 months, costs and restitution of $45,080, for the offense of Criminal Trespass, a felony of the third degree. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Hubert for the offense in March 2015.

Presutti will be sentenced in December 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Christopher Schelling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Presutti following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township on May 10, 2015.

Angie Wise, 23, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Felony. Trooper Mike Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wise following investigation of an incident that occurred in Sayre in December 2014.

Ricky Peters, 32, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor and Driving while Operating Privilege, suspended, revoked a summary offense. Peters will be sentenced on Sept. 17, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Nathan Ross of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Peters for the offense in April 2015.

Viski Frisbie, 20, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Retail Theft, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Frisbie will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, while supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges in November 2014 for the offense in Athens Township.

Robert Garris III, 18, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Garris will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department filed the charges in March 2015 for the offense in Athens Borough.

Elias Chilson, 22, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Theft, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation, Chilson will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drugs or alcohol use. Additionally, Chilson must perform 40 hours of community service and pay restitution of $49.94. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on March 10, 2015 for the offense in Athens Township.

Jamie Ely Jr., 29, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Ely will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drugs or alcohol use. Additionally, Ely must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department filed the charges on April 1, 2015 for the offense in Athens Borough.

Rene Salazar-Cruz, 32, Dushore, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Cruz will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drugs or alcohol use. Additionally, Cruz must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper Keith Roman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Salazar-Cruz for the offense.

Jeffery Sturzenegger, 62, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Sturzenegger will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drugs or alcohol use. Additionally, Sturzenegger must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department filed the charges on April 22, 2015 for the offense in Athens Borough.

Trespass

TREVORTON - Skie Marie Campbell, 21, of Shamokin, will be cited for simple trespass by Trooper Jared S. Mowen, state police at Stonington, for allegedly trespassing on property owned by Ken Deitrick, of Coal Township, at 479 Trevorton Road, Zerbe Township, about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Fraud

MILE RUN - Mike Davoli, of Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that his credit card was used illegally to make purchases online Monday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-286-5601.

Criminal trespass

COAL TOWNSHIP - Four Shamokin males, ages 12, 15, 16 and 17, were cited by Coal Township police for criminal trespass in connection with an Aug. 13 incident at the former BRL building in the Ames Plaza along Route 61.

Police said the juveniles entered the building through a doorway and remained inside until township officers arrived at 5:48 p.m. Police immediately took two of the juveniles into custody without incident before apprehending the other two juveniles who attempted to flee the area.

All four juveniles were released to the custody of their parents.

Stalking

COAL TOWNSHIP - Aaron Bressi, 34, of 1727 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was charged by Detective Jeff Brennan with stalking involving a disturbance at noon Friday in his block.

Police said Bressi allegedly used obscene language toward a female and children.

He was arraigned Friday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and committed to Montour County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Police said Bressi was taken into custody Thursday for using obscene language toward the same female and exposing himself to her Aug. 18. The victim was not identified by police. Bressi was arraigned for those offenses and ordered not to have any contact with the female.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - William Regester, 35, of 18 S. Market St., Apt. 3, Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct relating to a fight in the first block of South Market Street at 5:53 a.m. Sunday.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Deanna M. Long, 26, of 135 Dans Way, Coal Township, was charged by Trooper Michael App of state police at Stonington with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle with an expired registration, failing to produce a valid driver's license, failing to drive in a single lane of traffic, failing to use a turn signal, careless driving and failing to wear a seat belt.

The charges relate to a July 20 traffic stop at the intersection of Route 225 and Columbus Drive in Coal Township.

Police said Long had a blood-alcohol content of .166 percent.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman William Zalinski has charged Joel A. Santiago, 18, of 401 N. Rock St., second floor, Shamokin, with harassment, stalking, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief involving a May 8 disturbance.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Alex Barak was involved in a verbal argument with Santiago and two other males who weren't identified. Barak told police the three males threatened him and chased him on foot to his home at 20 S. Vine St.

After Barak secured himself inside his home, Santiago allegedly picked up a large stick and smashed out the two front windows at Barak's residence, causing approximately $500 damage. When Barak exited his home in an attempt to stop Santiago, police said Santiago struck Barak in the upper body with the stick.

Barak provided police with video surveillance footage from his home security system that identified Santiago as the suspect.

Santiago admitted committing the offenses, police said.

SCI-Coal inmate assaults nurse

COAL TOWNSHIP - Eric Jones, 26, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township, was charged by Trooper Kevin Kearney of state police at Stonington with assaulting a nurse at the state prison July 7.

Police reported Jones allegedly punched Jennifer Herrold in the face, causing a cut on her lip. Jones also is accused of possessing a 5 1/4-inch shank in the waste band of his pants.

Police said Jones and Herrold were discussing the inmate's medications when Jones became angry and punched her on the left side of the cheek, left eye and lip.

Jones is charged with aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime and possessing a weapon for escape.

Multiple charges

SHAMOKIN - Robert E. Whispell III, 28, of 720 E. Commerce St., Shamokin, has been charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possession of drug paraphernalia, flight to avoid apprehension, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct relating to an incident at 11 p.m. Saturday.

Police reported Whispell possessed two syringes commonly used to inject a controlled substance, four spoons with residue, an orange straw with residue and a roll of brillo after police found him stumbling near the intersection of Shamokin and Commerce streets. Police said Whispell admitted smoking spice about an hour before the incident.

Whispell was arraigned at 1:15 a.m. Sunday by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and committed to Montour County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Athens man facing trespassing charge

Sayre Borough Police charged Matthew E. Chapman, 33, of Athens, with defiant trespassing and public drunkenness on Aug. 18 after Chapman was found in a residence in which he was not allowed, police said.

Police responded to the residence after receiving a report of an intoxicated male inside the residence and the victim told police Chapman was not allowed in the residence, police said.

Police said Chapman arrived at the residence, fell in the yard where he vomited on himself and the yard.

The victim told police she told Chapman to leave, but he refused, police said.

Upon arrival, police found Chapman asleep on a couch and took him into custody for trespassing, police said.

Chapman has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Sept. 22 for his preliminary hearing.

Missing person found

State police at Towanda said they investigated the report of a missing 15-year-old juvenile between approximately 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Aug. 6 on Covered Bridge Road in Ulster Township, and the missing juvenile was subsequently located, after returning home on the same date.

Man charged with DUI

State police at Towanda said Phillip James Michael, 32, of Horseheads, N.Y. was found intoxicated by store employees at approximately 11:10 a.m. Aug. 6 at the Dandy Mini Mart on State Route 328 in Wells Township.

According to police, he exhibited several signs of intoxication and was subsequently placed in custody for driving while under the influence. He was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Police said Michael was charged with driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and careless driving through District Court 42-3-01.

Man injured

State police at Towanda said Eric S. Kjelgaard, 33, of Monroeton, had a minor injury in a one-vehicle crash that took place at 8:55 p.m. July 31 on Beech Flats Road in Canton Township.

Police said he was traveling north on his Harley-Davidson, swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, and struck a ditch on the western side of the road.

Warrant leads to Athens man's arrest

Sayre Borough Police arrested David William Wright, 44, of Athens, on Aug. 15 on a warrant through Pennsylvania State Police, Sayre police said.

Wright has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Wright was arrested after police observed Wright enter his vehicle in the early morning of Aug. 15, police said.

Police found a pill crusher, with various residue inside it, in Wright's pocket, police said.

Police also found one blue and one white pill, which turned out to be oxycodone and clonazepam, as well as a burnt glass smoking pipe, which Wright said he uses to smoke bath salts, police said.

In Wright's car, police found various glass smoking pipes, a glass bong, and an electronic scale, police said.

Wright waived his preliminary hearing and will be formally arraigned on Sept. 14 at the Bradford County Courthouse.

Towanda woman victim of theft

Sheri Weiss, 52, of Towanda was the victim of a theft, state police at Towanda said.

On Aug. 2, Weiss reported that someone used her credit card information, police said.

State police said their investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Guitar stolen in Cherry Township

State police say they have a suspect in the theft of a 12-string electric guitar that belongs to Gerald Lee Hawley of Dushore.

The theft occurred on Aug. 14 at Hawley's residence on Litzelman Road in Cherry Township, police said.

Car rolls over in Asylum Twp.

No one was injured in a recent motor vehicle accident on Liberty Corners Road in Asylum Township, police said.

Beau J. McGroarty, 34, of New Albany was driving a 2003 Suzuki Aerio east on Liberty Corners Road when the vehicle's front axle broke, causing the tires to lock up, police said.

The car traveled over a short cliff, rolled over and struck a tree, state police at Towanda said.

McGroarty and a passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Alicia McGroarty of New Albany, were both wearing seat belts, police said.

The accident occurred at 12:30 p.m. Friday, 1,476 feet south of Lake Street, police said.

No injuries

No injuries were reported when a two-vehicle collision occurred recently on U.S. Route 6 in Wysox.

According to state police, Billie J. Wickizer, 44, of Laceyville was driving a 1999 Saab west on Route 6 around 10:25 a.m. on Aug. 16. Police said Wickizer was attempting to turn her vehicle from the center lane of traffic, and in the process caused it to strike a 2011 Ford Econoline F350 operated by Mark D. Yanko, 69, of Nicholson, Pa.

Trailer stolen

State police are looking for the thieves who stole a trailer recently in Standing Stone Township.

According to police, the incident occurred between 2 p.m. on July 23 and 6 a.m. on July 27. The thieves stole a black 12-foot, two-axle dump body trailer from Goff Road, near U.S. Route 6. Anyone with information about the incident is requested to contact the state police at (570) 265-2186.

One injury reported

One injury was reported from a two-vehicle collision that occurred recently in Stevens Township.

According to state police, Aaron G. Manney, 89, of Stevensville, was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus east on state Route 706 around 6 p.m. on Aug. 13. Police said Manney attempted to turn left onto Leisure Lakes Road, and in the process caused his vehicle to strike a 2002 Dodge Intrepid operated by Donald E. Lupher III, 30, of Wyalusing, who was traveling west on Route 706 at the time.

Police said Manney suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene for treatment.

Man charged with simple assault

A Towanda man was cited by state police recently on a charge of simple assault.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Timothy Richard Short, 38, has also been charged with harassment. Short is accused of striking and injuring Elizabeth Rae Benjamin in the face on Aug. 12 during a dispute.

Short's preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Judge Clark on Aug. 28.

Woman charged with criminal trespass

A Towanda woman was arrested by state police recently on a charge of criminal trespass.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Cherish Ann Johnson, 27, has also been charged with criminal mischief. Johnson is accused of breaking into and entering the residence of John David McCormick in Sheshequin Township on Aug. 7.

Man faces simple assault charge

A Towanda man was arrested by borough police recently on a charge of simple assault.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Jason Martinet, 38, has also been charged with harassment. Martinet is accused of striking and choking Aaron Anania and Amanda Anania on Aug. 13 in Towanda Borough during a dispute. Martinet was ordered incarcerated in lieu of $5,000 bail. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 4 before Judge Clark.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Nadine J. King, 50, of Towanda, by the state police, on Aug. 20 on U.S. Route 220 in North Towanda Township. King exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication.

Alexander Cebilla-Amaya, 38, of the Bradford County Correctional Facility, has also been charged by Towanda police with careless driving; and driving on the wrong side of the road. Cebilla-Amaya was charged on July 18, following a traffic stop conducted by Towanda police on Merrill Parkway near State Street. After being taken into custody, Cebilla-Amaya was transported to Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital where he agreed to submit to a blood test. The test eventually revealed that Cebilla-Amaya's blood alcohol content was .173 percent on the day of his arrest. Cebilla-Amaya has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark on Sept. 16.

Riley Joseph Gorsline, 18, of Ulster, has also been charged by state police with crossing the center line of traffic; operating a vehicle at an unsafe speed; and careless driving. Gorsline was charged following a one-vehicle crash on July 26 in Sheshequin Township. At the scene, Gorsline, who was identified as the driver of the vehicle, was questioned about his condition prior to the crash. Gorsline admitted to smoking marijuana earlier, according to the report, and a blood test revealed a number of illicit substances in his system. Gorsline has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark on Sept. 25.

Driver escapes injury

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - Jared W. Holdren, 25, of Coal Township, escaped injury Sunday night in a one-car accident along Route 147 in this Northumberland County township.

State police at Stonington reported Holdren was driving a 2010 Toyota Prius south at 8:11 p.m. when a deer ran onto the highway into the path of his auto, causing a collision. Holdren was then able to bring his car to a controlled stop.

Police said Holdren was wearing a seat belt.

Members of Dalmatia Fire Company assisted at the scene.

People charged with harassment

State police at Towanda said Diane Leonard, 26, of Columbia Cross Roads, and Kimberly Bilbrey, 39, of Gillett, were charged with harassment for an incident that took place at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 on Big Pond Road in Springfield Township.

According to police, they engaged in a physical altercation constituting harassment.

Police said charges were filed at District Court 42-3-01.

Man charged with harassment

State police at Towanda said a 22-year-old Canton man was charged with harassment through District Court 42-3-01 for an incident that took place between approximately 11 p.m. and 11:25 p.m. Aug. 20 on LeRoy Mountain Road in LeRoy Township.

Police said he and a 22-year-old Canton woman engaged in a verbal altercation, which became physical.

Police did not provide the name of the people who were involved in the incident.

Burglary reported

Someone told state police at Towanda that it appeared someone had been in his neighbor's house at approximately 9:55 p.m. Aug. 8 on Route 14 in Gillett.

The victim was listed as Bonnie Lynn Silvernail-Batterson, no age or address given.

Police said the incident is under investigation.

Theft by deception reported

State police at Towanda said an unknown person called the Pump N Pantry sometime between 1:23 a.m. and 1:51 a.m. Aug. 22 on Springbrook Drive in Canton Township and pretended to be a customer service representative of Verifone.

According to police, the caller convinced the cashier to purchase nine $50 phone cards as a test of the system, obtained the PIN for the cards, and then told the cashier that their system was functioning property and to destroy the receipts for the phone cards.

Battery, GPS stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police here are investigating the theft of an Optima brand vehicle battery, Craftsman tool set and Garmin GPS from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of West Arch Street between 1:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday.

Anyone with information about the theft should call Coal Township police at 570-644-0333.

Phone scams

LOCUST TOWNSHIP - Locust Township police have received multiple phone scam reports during the past week.

Police said a local resident was contacted by an individual who identified himself as being from Microsoft Windows. Police said the caller requested the resident to provide him with her name, address, phone number and date of birth and also requested the resident to give him permission to remotely access her computer to complete an upgrade of Microsoft Windows that was installed on her computer.

Police said the individual was able to remotely access the resident's computer and then locked it. The caller told the resident that the only way he would unlock her computer is if she paid an unspecified monetary amount.

Two residents also received calls from an automated calling service identifying themselves as being from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The automated message provides them with a call back number and advises them that they are requested to call back because they allegedly owe money to the IRS.

Police asked residents to be cautious in giving out personal information via telephone so they do not become victims to these scams.

Scattering rubbish

SHAMOKIN - Valen Brommer, 26, of 610 Cleaver St., Apt. 10, Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman William Miner for scattering rubbish at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 19 at the Salvation Army store on East Independence Street.

Police said Brommer is accused of dumping eight bags of garbage at the store, including a full bag of used cat litter.

Breaks window

SHAMOKIN - Jamarl Brunson, 33, of 1150 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes for criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a window at an apartment at 18 S. Market St. at 3:23 a.m. Friday.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Melissa Barker, 30, of 1333 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for harassment for allegedly punching Briana Peterson, of 541 S. Market St., Shamokin, in the face outside 714 N. Shamokin St.

Hit and run

COAL TOWNSHIP - Anthony Zulkoski, of 716 W. Spruce St., Shamokin, told Coal Township police his vehicle was rear-ended by a hit-and-run driver at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at a traffic light on Route 61, near Burger King.

Zulkoski was stopped in a 1999 International truck when it was struck by a silver Chevrolet Cavalier, police said. The female driver drove off as he exited to survey damage. He told police it has a Grateful Dead window sticker and should have front-end damage.

Police Briefs

Charges filed in Athens car theft

Athens Township Police charged Jason Austin Jefferson, 25, with unauthorized use of an automobile after Jefferson took a vehicle without the owner's permission between Feb. 8 and Feb. 9, Athens police said.

The victim told police Jefferson was at her residence when she went to bed Feb. 8, but when she woke up, the vehicle, its keys, and Jefferson were missing, police said.

Police located the vehicle in the rear of the victim's apartment complex and found damage to the passenger's side mirror, police said.

Jefferson told the car's owner he would pay for the damages, but did not admit to driving it, police said.

Witnesses saw the vehicle at the Elmira Street Xtra Mart in Athens the morning of the incident, and after reviewing security footage police saw Jefferson exit the driver's seat of the vehicle, police said.

Jefferson was remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.

He will appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Sept. 8 for his preliminary hearing.

Woman arrested on suspicion of DUI

State police at Coudersport said Melissa K. McNett, 44, of Canton, was arrested for suspicion of DUI at approximately 1:36 a.m. Aug. 24 on Route 14, south of McNett Hill Road, in Union Township, Tioga County, Pa.

According to police, McNett was found sleeping across the road from her vehicle, which was stuck in a ditch. Police said she admitted to driving and was arrested. Police said charges are pending the toxicology results.

Man charged with DUI after crash

State police at Towanda said Jerry Thomas Mott, 57, of Troy, was arrested for DUI after a crash at approximately 6:45 p.m. Aug. 1 on Farmers Valley Road/Redington Avenue in Troy Township. Mott was not injured in the accident. Police said he was traveling west in an Oldsmobile Bravada, when he allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway on the north side and side-swipe two parked vehicles, a Ford Fusion, and a Buick Rainier.

Police said he was charged with a violation of "driving on roadways laned for traffic."

According to police, Mott was arrested for DUI after committing the traffic violation. Police said charges have been filed at District Court 42-3-01.

DUI

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police cited Brian Keith Shawda, 31, of 4045 Route 61, Sunbury, with several counts of driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving in connection with a crash he was involved in around 11:30 p.m. Aug. 3 on Route 61 near East End Auto.

Shawda was ejected from his car during the rollover crash and was taken by LifeFlight to Geisinger Medical Center. He was hospitalized for at least a week.

Simple assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - Louis Baez, 24, of 69 S. Oak St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Chad Yoder with simple assault and harassment for an incident that occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Yoder said Baez and his mother, Andrea Baez, with whom he lived, became involved in an argument. Baez slammed a door into her face, causing a bleeding cut above and below her eye as well as bruising and swelling, Yoder said. She was taken by ambulance to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital for further evaluation.

Baez was video-arraigned and incarcerated in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

Crash

BUTLER TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported when two vehicles collided on Fairgrounds Road in Butler Township around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

State police in Frackville said Mary L. Bauman, 48, of Sunbury, slowed to make a left turn in her 2004 Chevrolet Blazer when she was struck from behind by a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Michael Chickersky, 76, of Ashland.

Chickersky's vehicle was towed from the scene.

Liquor license violation

MOUNT CARMEL - Willow Cafe and Restaurant, also known as Mattucci's Willow Cafe, was cited by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for selling liquor or malt beverages without a license on multiple occasions between April 1 and 28.

According to the bureau, the restaurant's liquor license had expired March 31 and had not been renewed.

Driver airlifted

GILBERTON - Sheldon J. Buscavage, 51, of Frackville, was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville Friday night after suffering serious injuries in a one-car crash along Gold Star Highway (Route 924).

State police at Frackville reported Buscavage was driving a 2000 Dodge Stratus south in Gilberton near Catawissa Street at 10:05 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a left curve and lost control of his car, which went off the west berm and struck a rock embankment. The car overturned once across both southbound lanes and came to rest on its wheels straddling the concrete median.

Police said Buscavage was not wearing a seat belt. His car was towed from the scene. Charges are pending.

Machinery vandalized

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - Police here reported someone started and moved heavy equipment used for mining operations at John Shingara's mining area off Gap Road in an area known as "Smirf's Pond" between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the windshield of a Moxy articulated haul truck was kicked out, causing $1,000 damage.

Corporal Joseph Mitchell of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wickwire for the offense on April 15, 2015, following investigation of a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia that occurred in Sheshequin Township.

Suann Dyar, 33, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to a fine of $100 plus court costs. Chief Douglas Seeley of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Minder for the offenses in February 2015.

Nicole Searles, 34, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for nine days to 12 months, followed by Probation supervision for a term of 24 months, fines of $1,800, plus court costs, and buy money of $200.00, she will also lose her driver's license for 18 months, for the offenses of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony, Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Searles following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township.

Roberto Molino, 37, Canton, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for five days to six months, fines of $750, plus court costs, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Sergeant Trey Kurtz of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Molino for the offense on Jan. 17, 2015.

Nancy Benjamin, 26, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for two months, plus 43 days to 23 months, 29 days, fines of $500, plus court costs, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Officer Corey McLinko from the Towanda Borough Police Department and Officer Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Benjamin for the offense in October 2014 and April 2015.

Nicholas Hughes, 22, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 month, fines of $250.00, plus court costs, for the offenses of Harassment, a summary offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Nicholas Hughes, 22, Towanda, Pa., was resentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 49 days, flat, County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months - County Intermediate Punishment involves a combination of restrictions and supervision; it may include home confinement, electronic monitor, and substance abuse treatment; violations can result in incarceration - fines of $750, plus court costs, restitution of $460. Hughes was resentenced for the offenses of Possession with Intent to deliver, a felony and Possession of a controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Trooper Mike Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hughes following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township in September 2014.

David Burdick, 32, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to fines of $100 plus court costs, for the offense of Accident Involving Damage to Attended Vehicle or Property, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Burdick for the offense in March 2015.

Peter Venegas, 33, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 49 days, flat, County Intermediate Punishment for nine months - County Intermediate Punishment involves a combination of restrictions and supervision; it may include home confinement, electronic monitor, and substance abuse treatment; violations can result in incarceration - fines of $250, plus court costs, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Mitchel Smith, 19, of Canton, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $300 plus court costs, for the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Smith for the offense in January 2015.

Walter Reynolds, 27, of Monroeton, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for 12 months to 36 months, fines of $500 plus court costs, for the offense of Burglary, a felony of the first degree. Trooper Keith Roman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Reynolds following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroe Township in January 2015.

Roy Kelley, 42, Towanda, Pa., was resentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for two months to four months, fines of $500, plus court costs, for the offense of Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Ryan Edsell and Officer Joshua Lake both of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Kelley for the offense in April 2013.

Michael Losey, 43, of Canton, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for three months to 11 months, 29 days, fines $250, plus court costs for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Trooper Robert Edgerton of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Losey following investigation of an incident that occurred in Alba Borough in October 2014.

Kyle Tice, 24, of Covington, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional for 30 days to 17 months, 29 days, fines of $200, plus court costs, Tice was resentenced after his probation was revoked, for the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Quentin Reinford of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Tice for the offense on April 24, 2014.

Travis Kitchen, 43, of Rome, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for 24 months to 48 months, fines of $500. Kitchen will also lose his driver's license for six months. Kitchen was resentenced following a remand from Superior Court, for the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Kitchen following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Derrick Seeley, 31, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for 15 months to 30 months, fines of $1,000 plus court costs; he will also lose his driver's license for six months. Seeley was resentenced for the offenses of Possession with Intent to Deliver, a felony and Liquefied Ammonia Precursors, also a felony offense. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Seeley for the offense on Nov. 30, 2014.

Michael Rinebold, 49, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to State Intermediate Punishment for 24 months. State Intermediate Punishment is a two year program. It begins with at least seven months of regular state prison, followed by custody in a drug/alcohol addiction center, followed by restricted living in a residential program. The prison administration must be satisfied that the prisoner has made progress in rehabilitation from substance abuse. If not, the prisoner will be dismissed from S.I P. and resentenced. If the S.I.P. program is completed, the prisoner will be under probation supervision for two additional years and checked regularly for drug or alcohol use. If he violated during those two years, Probation will be revoked and if there is a violation more incarceration will be imposed, fines of $5000, plus court costs, he will also lose his driver's license for 36 months; there will be an additional license suspension of 18 months imposed for refusal to submit to testing when arrested. Rinebold was arrested for the offense of two counts of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer John Fedorchak and Officer Jason Serfas both of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Rinebold for the offenses on Oct. 8, 2014 and Oct. 14, 2014.

Bradford County District Attorney, Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons recently entered guilty pleas in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

John V. Grattolino, 62, of Sayre, Pa., was found guilty of Recklessly Endangering another Person at a jury trial in Towanda. Officer Nikki Hoffman of the Sayre Police Department arrested Grattolino on Dec. 28, 2014, after an incident in South Waverly. Grattolino will be sentenced on Oct. 15, 2014, after a presentence investigation is prepared by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Jason White, 23, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Aggravated Indecent Assault, a felony of the first degree. White will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Nikki Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested White for the offense in February 2015.

Robert Kolovich, 57, Northumberland, Pa., was found guilty after a Jury Trial of Deceptive Business Practices, a felony of the third degree, Deceptive or Fraudulent Business Practices, also a felony of the third degree, Theft by Deception, also a felony of the third degree, and Receiving Stolen Property, a felony of the third degree. Kolovich will be sentenced on a date to be determined, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Tribendis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kolovich following investigation of an incident that occurred in Leroy Township.

Nicholas Hughes, 22, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Harassment a summary offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Officer McLinko of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Hughes for the offense in June 2015.

Jon Crawford, 25, Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Crawford will be sentenced on Sept. 28, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Gabriel Paduck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Crawford following investigation of an incident that occurred in Overton Township in March 2015.

Stormi Coyne, 37, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, also a misdemeanor. Coyne will be sentenced on Sept. 28, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Nathan Ross of the Sayre Borough Police Department and Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Coyne for the offenses in April 2015.

Nicole Searles, 34, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Searles will be sentenced on Aug. 6, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Douglas following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township.

Tamara Mosher, 25, Elmira, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Mosher will be sentenced on Sept. 28, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Mosher for the offense on Feb. 3, 2015.

Gary Joslyn Jr., 42, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Joslyn will be sentenced on Sept. 28, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Corey McLinko of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Joslyn for the offense on March 7, 2015.

Nikki Vandyke, 36, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Retail Theft, grading to be determined, Possession of a controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Vandyke will be sentenced on Sept. 28, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Vandyke for the offense on March 17, 2015.

Lawn mower in Rome Twp. stolen

A lawn mower and gas can owned by Eric Scott Fick, 24, of Rome was stole from a property on Crimson Maple Lane sometime between the dates of Aug. 8 and Aug. 19, according to a press release from state police.

Cabin burglarized in Wilmot Twp.

A cabin on Oak Hill Road in Wilmot Twp. belonging to Jacqueline Schmid, 74, of Philadelphia was broken into sometime between Aug. 2 and Aug. 20, according to a press release from state police.

Although nothing inside the residence was taken or damaged, the cabin did sustain some damage while being broken into, police said.

Two women charged with disorderly conduct

Macee Raub, 23, of Troy and Skylar Overpeck, 25, of Wysox have been charged with disorderly contact after police say they argued with each other and caused a public disturbance after being told to stop on Aug. 25 on Maximus Lane in Rome Township.

Reckless driver in South Creek

State police are investigating a report of criminal mischief that occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 at the South Creek Fire Department in South Creek Township.

According to police, an unknown person driving a white with black trim 1990s model Jeep Cherokee, which had a dent in the passenger side front door, entered the department's parking lot and did several donuts. The burnout sent several rocks into the fire station's glass entry door, causing damage.

Man fires gun near neighbor

Cletus Howard Roediger, 31, of Rome has been charged with a misdemeanor count of recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct relating to a 9:30 p.m. incident on Aug. 7 on Merry Go Round Road in Windham Township.

According to police, Roediger saw a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of his neighbor's driveway and went outside with a friend to investigate. Inside the vehicle, Roediger's neighbor sat behind the driver's seat of a newly purchased vehicle, which Roediger did not recognize, as she finished listening to an audio book before parking the car.

When Roediger and his friend approached the vehicle, Roediger's neighbor saw the two men illuminated by brake lights and rolled the window down, which is when Roediger discharged a .45 caliber handgun, police said.

Roediger's neighbor asked if the two men just shot something at her, to which the men responded, "It was a firecracker," police said.

According to police, when interviewing Roediger about the incident, he originally insisted that a firecracker caused the noise. However, after police confronted him with a .45 caliber shell casing found at the scene, Roediger admitted to firing his handgun, police said.

He has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 for a preliminary hearing.

DUI charge

The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Allen Lamar Goodman, 35, of Waycross, Ga., by Athens Township Police, on Aug. 29, on U.S. Route 220 in Athens Township. Goodman has also been charged with driving with an expired registration. Goodman later refused to submit to a blood alcohol test to determine his blood alcohol content. Goodman was remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. Goodman will appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Sept. 8 for his preliminary hearing.

Juvenile car thief

MOUNT CARMEL - A juvenile was charged with theft and related offenses after allegedly stealing the same car twice in two days last week.

Mount Carmel Borough Police Cpl. David Donkochik reported a 17-year-old from Mount Carmel took a vehicle Thursday at Third and Locust streets then returned it to the same area only to steal the vehicle again Aug. 28.

The juvenile was charged with two counts each of receiving stolen property, theft and drivers required to be licensed.

Scattering rubbish

MOUNT CARMEL - Diane M. Hutko, 47, of 230 S. Plum St., Mount Carmel, was cited for scattering rubbish by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Kevin Katch for throwing household items out the second floor window of her residence and onto the street at 3 p.m. Aug. 14.

Harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - Ashley R. Yorks, 22, of 216 W. Avenue, was cited for harassment after allegedly struck her mother, Sheila Labate, in the head at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 14. The citation was filed by borough police Cpl. David Donkochik.

Underage drinking

MOUNT CARMEL - Joseph R. Schmoyer, 18, of 215 S. Maple St., was cited for underage drinking by borough police Patrolman Matthew Dillman related to an incident at Fifth and Market streets at 4:30 a.m. Aug. 18.

Public drunkenness

MOUNT CARMEL - Borough police Patrolman William Adamski cited a 13-year-old Mount Carmel juvenile with public drunkeness after the youth was found under the influence of synthetic spice while in the gazebo area at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19.

Harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - Jennifer Diamond, 36, and Lance Glenney, 27, both of 337 E. Seventh St., were cited by Patrolman Justin Stelma with harassment after a 6 a.m. disturbance Aug. 16. Police allege the individuals struck each other, causing injury.

Dog running at large

COAL TOWNSHIP - Miranda Canouse, 20, of 127 Main St., was cited by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky, for allowing her dogs to run at large Aug. 20.
