Woman injured

BLYTHE TOWNSHIP - Nancy L. Harris, 66, of Ashland, suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday on Route 61 in this Schuylkill County township.

State police at Frackville reported Harris was driving a 2009 Ford Focus north in the driving lane of Route 61 at 5 p.m. when she made an abrupt lane change to avoid striking the rear of a 2004 Mack Vision operated by Derrick J. Harris, 42, of Allentown, who was traveling at a slower speed with its four-way flashers.

While Nancy Harris was attempting to pass the heavy commercial vehicle, she overcompensated, causing the passenger side of her car to strike the driver's side of the Mack Vision.

Police said the car then overturned and landed on its wheels across both lanes of the highway. The Mack Vision was able to pull off the road onto the east shoulder.

Nancy Harris was transported by St. Clair Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Derrick Harris escaped injury. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, police said.
