PFA violation

ASHLAND - Kelsea Shappell, no known address, was taken into custody by borough police officers for violating a protection from abuse order at 4 p.m. Friday, June 6.

According to police, Shappell went to the home of Ruth Schnee and made contact with Schnee, which is in violation of a protection order. Schnee was taken into custody a short distance away, police said. Shappell was arraigned by District Judge James Reilley via video conference and committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Suspicious incident

ASHLAND - Borough police are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred outside the Good Fellowship Club, South Nineteenth Street, Wednesday evening.

According to police, two white males approached a man leaving the Good Fellowship Club, said their van was disabled in the Centralia area and asked for a ride. Nearby was a van occupied by a black male wearing sunglasses who was believed to be a participant in the suspicious incident. The male refused their request and left. A second man was approached a short time later by the same two individuals.

Disturbance

ASHLAND - Teddy Allen Fishburn, 40, of 1003 Brock St., Ashland, was arrested and charged by Ashland police with resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after an incident at 12:32 p.m. Wednesday.

Police were called to the area of Tenth and Oak streets where a borough worker was being harassed by Fishburn, who had driven his vehicle into a tree on a dirt road near Oak Street. Fishburn left before police arrived, officers said.

While police were investigating the accident, Fishburn got into a verbal altercation with his wife, Amanda Fishburn, and his mother in law, Cheryl McGee. Fishburn smashed the front door to his residence and then continued to be disorderly, police said. He was warned by police to desist. He went to 939 Brock St., where he got into another verbal altercation with his wife, police said. Officers, who were still at the scene of the first call, subsequently placed him under arrest for disorderly conduct. He resisted arrest and had to be forcibly taken to the ground by police, officers said.

Fishburn was arraigned before District Judge Hale and released. Ashland Police were assisted at the scene by Butler Township Police.

Domestic dispute/assault

ASHLAND - Blaine Z. Smith, of 1329 Walnut St., was arrested by Ashland Police after two incidents at 10 and 10:30 p.m. Friday, June 6.

Police said they were called to 1329 Walnut St. at 10 p.m. for a domestic dispute between Blaine and his wife, Jennifer Smith.

Police were called a second time at 10:30 p.m., when Blaine allegedly became involved in an argument with Jennifer and pushed her face first into a door, police said.

Blaine was arraigned before Judge James Reilley via videoconference on charges of simple assault and probable cause in domestic violence. He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.

District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported the following recent criminal case resolutions in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

SENTENCED

Tiffany Chandler, 22, Lockwood, N.Y., was sentenced to Probation for a term of 24 months and a fine of $1100.00 for the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the third degree, Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and Public Drunkenness, a Summary offense.

Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department and Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Chandler for the offenses in March 2013 and July 2013.

Daniel Bell, 65, Towanda, Pa., was resentenced following revocation of a sentence of Probation to a term of imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five months to 23 months, 29 days and a fine of $2000.00, for the offense of Corruption of Minors, a Felony of the third degree.

Officer Ryan Edsell of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bell for the offense on July 8, 2012.

Kamry Smiley, 24, Athens, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 14 days to 23 months, 29 days followed by a term of Probation for 24 months and a fine of $500.00 for the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree and Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree.

Trooper Tyler Brackman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Simons following investigation of an incident that occurred in Burlington Township.

Joshua Rose, 28, Athens, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 23 months, 29 days, she was also ordered to pay restitution of $1240.00 and a fine of $1500.00 for the offense of Recklessly Endangering another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree.

Officer Steven Burlingame of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Rose for the offense in 2013.

Shannon Kellam, 36, of Athens, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from two months to 12 months and a fine of $1000.00; she will also lose her driver's license for six months for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor.

Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Kellam for the offense on Sept. 30, 2013.

Francis Moore, 43, of New Field, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from six months to 23 months, 29 days and a fine of $500.00, for the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

GUILTY PLEAS

Kamry Smiley, 24, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree.

Smiley will be sentenced on June 5, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department

Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Smiley for the offense on March 22, 2014.

Casey Shedden, 23, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a Felony.

Shedden will be sentenced on July 28, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department

Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vise and Narcotics Unit arrested Shedden following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Paul Arnold, 55, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor.

Arnold will be sentenced on July 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department

Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Arnold for the offense in March 2014.

Donnell Wiaiavski, 22, Wellsboro, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor.

Wiaiavski will be sentenced on July 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department

Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wiaiavski following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Township on Jan. 22, 2014.

PLACEMENT IN THE ACCELERATED REHABILITATIVE DISPOSITION (ARD) PROGRAM

Breanna Herman, 21, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Herman will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Herman must perform 40 hours of community service.

Sergeant David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department filed the charges on Oct. 15, 2013 for the offense in Towanda Borough.

Matthew Rogers, 50, Athens, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Rogers will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use.

Additionally, Rogers must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days.

Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on Jan. 19, 2014 for the offense in Athens Township.

NOLO CONTENDERE

Victoria Rosado, Blossburg, Pa., entered a plea of nolo contendere/no contest to Accident Involving Personal Injury while Unlicensed, a Felony of the third degree and Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor.

Rosado will be sentenced on July 28, 2014, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A no-contest plea is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced.

Trooper Michael Tribendis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Rosado following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroe Township.

David Terkay, 56, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of nolo contendere/no contest to Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor.

Terkay will be sentenced on July 28, 2014, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A no-contest plea is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently entered guilty pleas and were sentenced in Bradford County Magisterial District Courts:

Alex Campbell, 24, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a summary offense, and was sentenced to a fine of $200.00 and costs.

Officer Patrick Butkiewicz of the Laceyville Borough Police Department arrested Campbell for the offense on April 12, 2014, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Borough.

Alva Decker, 25, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Criminal Mischief, a summary offense and was sentenced to time served plus a fine and restitution in the amount of $2900.00, and court costs.

Decker spent 20 days in jail in Wyoming and New York on fugitive warrants for the charges.

Trooper Craig Flynn of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Decker for the offense between Dec. 26, 2010 and Jan. 8, 2011, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Benjamin Galacci, 27, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense, and was sentenced to 13 days and court costs.

Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Galacci for the offense on Sept. 15, 2013, following investigation of an assault that occurred in Athens Township.

Audrey VanDyke, 29, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 14 days and court costs.

Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested VanDyke for the offense on Sept. 15, 2013, following investigation of a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia that occurred in Sayre Borough.

Jean Lane, 42, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 14 days and court costs.

Corporal Douglas Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lane for the offense on Dec. 17, 2013, following investigation of a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia that occurred in Monroe Township.

Gary Brassfield, 21, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a summary offense, and was sentenced to a fine of $50.00 and court costs.

Access device fraud

State police at Towanda are investigating a case of access device fraud in Wyalusing Township.

According to state police, an known actor received access to a female victim's credit card. Police said the card was supposed to be mailed to a township location, but was never received; however, charges were made to the card.

Road signs shot

State police are investigating a criminal mischief incident in Tuscarora Township.

According to state police at Towanda, police were notified May 30 of two road signs on Route 367 containing multiple bullet holes. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Monroeton woman charged

State police at Towanda recently charged a Monroeton woman in a theft and forgery incident in Albany Township.

According to information from state police, Sara Ann Johnson, 27, who was a caregiver of the victim, overpaid herself and made unauthorized transactions using the victim's checkbook between July and September 2013. Johnson made a total of $1,783.86 in unauthorized transactions, police said.

Charges were filed against Johnson in district court and an arrest warrant issued, police said.

Woman charged with child endangerment

An Athens woman was recently charged with endangering the welfare of a child by Athens Borough police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Angelica L. Heeman, 23, was charged after a 4-year-old female juvenile left her North Elmira Street residence unattended and walked several blocks to a Walnut Street location.

Heeman's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 15.

Stalking charge

A Candor, N.Y. man was recently arrested by Sayre Borough police on a charge of stalking.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Tracy White, 52, was also charged with luring a child into a motor vehicle.

Police said White followed a juvenile male and attempted to abduct him on several occasions between 2006 and 2014. According to police, White was last reported to be attempting to speak with the boy June 1 at the Fourth Ward Park; the boy's mother told police that the boy and other juvenile males he was with returned to his mother's residence "in fear for their lives," police said.

White was arraigned June 13 by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. White's preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 24.

Man charged with theft

Sayre Borough police recently incarcerated a Nichols, N.Y. man on a charge of theft by unlawful taking.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Andrew J. Rogers, 21, was also charged with receiving stolen property.

Police said that at about 8:15 a.m. March 5, Rogers removed a Taurus 9-millimeter handgun from a truck parked in the driveway of a South Higgins Avenue residence. Rogers then gave the handgun to another person to dispose of it, police said.

Rogers was arraigned June 6 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. Rogers' preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 17.

Athens man charged

An Athens man was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of providing false information for firearm ownership.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Ryan Michael Plouse, 24, was also charged with making an unsworn falsification to authorities.

Police said Plouse attempted to purchase a pistol from a township firearms dealer May 15 and answered no to a question on the form asking whether he had been convicted of a felony or other crime for which the judge could have imprisoned him for more than one year. Police said Plouse had been sentenced in 2011 to five to 23 months confinement for a first-degree misdemeanor charge. Plouse was denied the sale of the gun and his application referred to police, police said.

Plouse was arraigned June 9 and released from the Bradford County Jail on non-monetary bail. Plouse's preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 24.

Two-car crash

HUMMELS WHARF - No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday along Route 11 near the Susquehanna Valley Mall, Snyder County.

Nicole L. Fillmore, 31, of Trevorton, was attempting to turn a 2003 Mercury Sable left onto Commerce Avenue shortly before noon when, according to state police at Selinsgrove, she drove into the path of a 2004 Ford F-550 driven north by Derrick C. Knamm, 24, of Middleburg. The Sable struck the F-550 in its left front bumper. Both vehicles stopped along the roadway.

Fillmore, Knamm and his passenger, Scott L. Hummel, 62, of Sunbury, were all wearing seat belts.

Fillmore was issued a traffic citation.

Teen hurt

HUMMELS WHARF - Two vehicles crashed along Route 11 near the Susquehanna Valley Country Club Tuesday in Snyder County.

According to state police at Selinsgrove, Linnea L. Bidelspach, 72, of Sunbury, was attempting to turn a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox left onto Park Avenue about 2:45 p.m. when she drove into the path of a 1978 Ford Ranger driven north by Matthew J. Garbera, 55, of Northumberland. The Equinox struck the right side of the Ranger.

A 17-year-old female passenger of Bidelspach's suffered an injury. No one else was hurt.

Bidelspach, the teen and a third passenger, a 15-year-old female, were all wearing seat belts, as was Garbera, police said.

Bidelspach was issued a traffic citation.

Stolen goods

HUMMELS WHARF - Jason Allen Finfinger, 31, and Tiffany Marie Deibler, 30, both of Sunbury, are accused by state police of Selinsgrove of stealing $381.91 in merchandise from Walmart along Route 11 in Snyder County about 1:15 p.m. May 24. Both are charged with retail theft and related offenses.

Side door damaged at Towanda Public Library

The Towanda Borough police said they are investigating a recent case of criminal mischief, in which someone damaged a side door to the Towanda Public Library at 104 Main St.

"Someone tried to break through the window of a side door" of the library at some point between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, said Jesse A. Johnson, director of the library. The door is located off Maple Street, he said.

Johnson said he didn't know if the offender was trying to break into the library, because no one was in the library at the time.

In addition, there was a scuff mark on the side door, he said. "It looked like someone kicked it," which caused some damage to the door, he said.

In addition, an ashtray along the side of the building, which had been made from a bird bath, was broken, Johnson said. The offender had apparently used the ashtray to strike the window, Johnson said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Towanda Borough police at (570) 265-2522. "All reports will remain anonymous," the Towanda police wrote in a press release that they issued about the incident.

Sheriff's deputies arrest Waverly man

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal trespass.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Randy A. Barrowcliff, 51, was also charged with menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Barrowcliff was charged following a reported neighborhood disturbance in Barton in which Barrowcliff allegedly entered a residence and refused to leave when asked several times. Police said Barrowcliff then armed himself with a knife from within the residence and displayed it toward an adult female and a 16-year-old male in a threatening manner.

Barrowcliff was arraigned in Barton Town Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond. Barrowcliff is scheduled to appear June 17 in town court.

Drug paraphernalia charge

A Waverly woman was recently charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Athens Township police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Heather L. Shaffer, 28, was found to be in possession of a glass bowl piece May 1 during a search after she was taken into custody on a warrant.

Shaffer's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 22.

Theft reported

State police at Towanda are investigating a theft from a Warren Township location.

According to state police, on May 10 an unknown actor or actors removed a fake game camera from an Arbor Glade Road property, then later returned it and removed a memory card from a real game camera. The actor or actors then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Man charged with assault

A Rome man was recently arrested by state police at Towanda on a charge of simple assault.

According to information from state police, Justin E. Gill, 30, was also charged with harassment.

Police said Gill is accused of striking and choking a female victim during a June 11 altercation at a Haine Lane location. Gill was arraigned in district court and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail, police said.

Man charged with theft

A Sayre man was recently arrested by Athens Borough police on a charge of theft by unlawful taking.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Peter L. Venegas, 32, was also charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and defiant trespassing.

Police said Venegas damaged the windshield of a truck parked on Dogwood Avenue at about 10:48 p.m. June 9, then fled north, police said. Venegas had previously removed several items from the truck owner's possession, including an army bag, field jacket, chemical gear, knife and prescription bottle containing four hydrocodone pills, police said.

Venegas was arraigned June 10 by Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. Venegas' preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 24.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Brock Andrew Bezick, 22, of Ulster, by Athens Borough police, on May 25, on East Pine Street in Athens. Bezick has also been charged with failure to keep right. A blood test revealed that Bezick's blood alcohol content was .16 percent on the day of his arrest. Bezick has been sent a summons to appear July 22 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Joseph Phillip Bruno, 21, of Waverly, by Athens Borough police, on May 20, on South Main Street in Athens. Bruno has also been charged with careless driving and operating a vehicle without a valid inspection. A blood test revealed that Bruno's blood alcohol content was .13 percent on the day of his arrest. Bruno has been sent a summons to appear July 22 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Criminal mischief

COAL TOWNSHIP - Christina Aponte, 35, of 905 W. Mulberry St., reported the rear driver's side door window of her Dodge Durango was smashed during the early morning hours Friday while it was parked in front of her home and a metal cash box containing $355.31 in cash and assorted checks totaling $121.03 was removed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Coal Township police at 644-0333.

Threats

COAL TOWNSHIP - Robert Pesarchick, 45, of 2102 W. Independence St., was charged with terroristic threats, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by Coal Township police after an incident at 2:34 a.m. Friday.

Police said Pesarchick, who was intoxicated and allegedly had a gun, approached several police officers, who were dispatched to Pesarchick's home for a disturbance, and was yelling and screaming at police to hit him. Pesarchick was acting aggressively toward police and a stun gun was used, police said. Pesarchick resisted police and refused to be handcuffed, according to police.

A relative told police Pesarchick said he would kill a family member, police said.

Pesarchick was transported to a holding cell at Northumberland County Prison to await arraignment. Coal Township police were assisted by Shamokin police and Ralpho Township police.

Pesarchick was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Apfelbaum Friday and committed to Northumberland County Prison. He was released on $10,000 straight bail.

Noise

THARPTOWN - Mark Shingara, 35, of 323 Center St., was cited by Coal Township police for violating the Coal Township noise ordinance.

Shingara is the owner of a garage in Tharptown where there were people outside the garage making unreasonable noise that disturbed neighbors between the hours of 12:15 and 1 a.m. Monday, police said.

Theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Jeremy D. Weikel, 39, of 427 Main St., Coal Township, has been charged with three counts of theft by unlawful taking for allegedly stealing several items from 10 N. Fifth St., owned by Dave McGuinn, of Paxinos, between November 2013 and May.

According to police, Weikel sold a 205,000 BTU New Yorker Oil Furnace for $500 and a 500 gallon oil tank for $125, both of which items were removed from McGuinn's property. Weikel also allegedly removed copper tubing and wiring, steel pipes, two double wall ovens and a Kenmore stove top range from McGuinn's property. The total value of the items taken is approximately $4,500.

Disorderly conduct

WICONISCO TOWNSHIP - Robert Ritchard Shingara, 31, of Shamokin, was charged with disorderly conduct by Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said Shingara was engaged in a loud verbal argument outside of the Wiconsico Fire Company, 387 Arch St., at 1:10 a.m. Sunday in this Dauphin County township.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Tonya A. Leschinskie, 34, of 1020 N. Washington St., was charged with harassment after an incident outside of Rob's Goodtime Grill at 10:55 p.m. Friday.

Dog barking

SHAMOKIN - Kelly Moser, 31, of 334 S. Fifth St., was cited for violating the dog barking ordinance for an incident occurring at her home at 11:35 p.m. Saturday.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Jason D. White, 31, of 1004 N. Orange St., was charged with disorderly conduct for an incident at 7:55 p.m. Friday.

White is accused of shoving Bob Young, of 152 E. Cameron St. White is also accused of refusing to desist and acting erratically, police said.

Garbage

SHAMOKIN - Guillermo Ruiz, 50, of 3 S. Shamokin St., was cited Wednesday with code violations and charged with public nuisance infractions and disorderly conduct.

Shamokin Code Officer Rick Bozza said he located a large pile of bagged garbage and debris in the yard of Ruiz's property and issued a code ticket April 14. The garbage was not addressed when Bozza visited the property May 30, June 2 and June 3, and Bozza filed additional code violation citations.

Police inspected the property at 4:30 p.m. June 10 and determined the garbage was still present and creating a public nuisance and health hazard. Cpl. Bryan Primerano charged Guillermo with being a public nuisance and disorderly conduct for creating an offensive condition.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - Robert Broscious, 49, of 25 W. Independence St., was charged June 9 with two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of careless driving, accidents involving damage to unattended property and violating the open container law May 25.

Shamokin police said witnesses saw Broscious drive at a high rate of speed, squeal the wheels of the truck he was driving and hit a traffic sign in front of the Rite Aid parking lot at 25 W. Independence St., shortly before 10:30 p.m. before exiting his 1997 Ford truck. When officers approached Broscious, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol and said Broscious displayed other signs of intoxication and admitted to striking the sign. Broscious was also in possession of an open bottle of Verdi alcoholic wine. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .292 blood alcohol content.

DUI

SHAMOKIN - James Zablonsky, 43, of 53 N. Second St., was charged June 9 with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of failing to obey traffic signals involving an incident May 4.

Shamokin police said Zablonsky was traveling at a high rate of speed at approximately 12:30 a.m. when he failed to yield the right of way to a police cruiser and another vehicle. He then traveled into the opposing lane of traffic and onto the sidewalk before attempting to park facing the wrong direction of traffic. Zablonsky told police he had been consuming alcohol, and exhibited other signs of intoxication, according to police. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .249 BAC.

Hit and run

SHAMOKIN - Shaun Campbell, 31, of 1495 W. Water St., Coal Township, was charged Thursday with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of careless driving relating to an incident April 19.

Police said Campbell struck a parked vehicle before leaving the scene and parking in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. Campbell exited the vehicle and sat on the steps of a nearby house, where he was found by the responding officer. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .264 blood alcohol content.

Squealing tires

SHAMOKIN - Jonathan S. Shacklton, 29, of 304 N. Vine St., Shamokin, was charged with driving under the influence, careless driving, driving with a suspended license (DUI related) and squealing tires within the city limits relating to an incident at 10:30 p.m. May 28.

Shamokin police said officers responded to a call regarding a Jeep doing burnouts in the 200 block of Sunbury Street. Shacklton was spotted holding a can of beer while sitting on the porch of a home where the Jeep was parked. Shacklton denied driving the vehicle, but was identified as the driver by several witnesses. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .249 blood alcohol content and the presence of 17 ng/ml of Oxycodone.

Asleep at the wheel

SHAMOKIN - Scott Wright, 31, of 1508 Wabash St., Coal Township, was charged with driving under the influence, possessing drug paraphernalia, obstructing traffic and driving with a suspended license (DUI related) in relation to a May 17 incident.

Shamokin police said Wright fell asleep in the driver's seat of his stopped vehicle shortly at 1 a.m. at a blinking yellow light at the intersection of Sunbury and Shamokin streets. An officer performing a wingspan search located a glass multicolored pipe containing marijuana, some of which was burned. A blood test at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital revealed a .131 blood alcohol content and the presence of marijuana.

Criminal solicitation reported

State police at Towanda said a 14-year-old Troy girl reported that someone known to her asked her to send him inappropriate pictures of her and made sexual comments to her between approximately 10 p.m. May 4 and 3 a.m. May 5 in Troy.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.

Man charged with drug possession

Brandon M. Smith, 18, of Canton was has been charged with one count of possessing a small amount of marijuana for an incident that took place at 9:42 a.m. March 7 on Seeley Road in Canton Township, according to state police at Towanda.

Police said the charge was filed through District Court 42-3-01. No other details were provided.

Driveway damaged

State police at Towanda said the driveway of a 28-year-old Granville Summit man was damaged at 6:30 p.m. June 7 on Saxton Hill Road in Granville Township.

According to police, someone driving a gray Ford pickup spun their tires at the location, causing the damage. An investigation continues.

Medication removed

A 30-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman told state police at Towanda that someone removed medication between May 14-16 from property on Graham Road in Canton Township, by unknown means. Police said they have developed a suspect, who is under investigation.

Bush removed

A Roaring Branch man told state police at Towanda that someone removed a bush from his business, without paying, between May 17-18 on Springbrook Road in Canton Township.

Police said they have developed a suspect, who is under investigation.

Juvenile charged

State police at Towanda said Gordon Scott Miller, 43, of Wyalusing, and a male juvenile were involved in a verbal altercation at 9:20 p.m. April 27 on Scrib Meadow Road in Terry Township and the altercation escalated, when the juvenile punched Miller in the face with his fist and a cooking pot.

Police said charges were filed against the juvenile.

Man charged with harassment

State police at Towanda said that Keith Edward Morrison, 54, of Granville Summit, was charged with harassment after an incident at 6:15 p.m. May 29 on Route 514 in Granville Township in which he is accused of throwing two rocks at the barn of a 60-year-old Granville Summit man, causing his dogs to bark.

Items found

State police at Towanda said vehicle and house keys were found outside Jan's Beauty Salon at 1 p.m. June 1 on Main Street in New Albany.

The items were left in the custody of state police at are stored in the property room, pending positive identification by a claimant.

Fuel removed

State police at Towanda said someone tipped over a 500-gallon fuel tank between 4 p.m. May 29 and 9 a.m. May 30 in the 1000 block of Underhill Road in Tuscarora Township and removed an excessive amount of fuel, by cutting a diesel hose off another tank and using it to siphon the fuel.

Camper burglary reported

State police at Towanda said someone entered a garage at approximately 10:20 p.m. June 4 in the 1000 block of Updike Road in Wells Township, and while inside the garage, forcibly entered a camper, which was parked in the garage. Nothing was taken from within the dwelling or the camper, police said.

Battery taken

State police at Towanda said they are investigating the theft of a battery from a piece of equipment that was left unattended sometime between 5 p.m. May 30 and noon June 2 at the South Creek Township Building in South Creek Township.

Man charged with simple assault

An Athens man was recently charged with simple assault by Athens Township police.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Michael Lloyd Chandler, 25, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Chandler hit two juveniles with his hand June 8 at a McCloe Lane residence.

Chandler's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 22.

Charges filed against Athens man

State police at Towanda recently filed charges of reckless endangerment and simple assault on an Athens man following an incident in Litchfield Township.

According to state police, George Lewis Jr., 72, was charged after firing a round from a rifle in the direction of a victim's vehicle during a dispute at about 5:50 p.m. May 30 at a North Rome Road residence.

Retail theft

A Towanda woman was recently charged with retail theft by Athens Township police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Jessica Lynn Kepner, 28, removed $201.19 worth of clothing items from the Walmart store on Elmira Street at about 1:45 p.m. May 23.

Kepner's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 15.

No injuries in three-car MVA

State police at Towanda recently investigated a three-car motor vehicle accident in Ulster Township.

According to state police, at about noon May 29, a 2000 Ford Focus operated by 27-year-old Ashley A. Perry of Towanda failed to yield to oncoming traffic while emerging from Woodpecker Lane onto Route 220. The vehicle struck a southbound 1997 Ford F-150 on Route 220, police said.

The truck then spun clockwise into the northbound lane, sideswiping a Jeep Cherokee with its tailgate, police said.

The Focus and F-150 had disabling damage, while the Jeep had minor driver's side damage, police said. No injuries were reported.

Police cited Perry for a violation of vehicles entering or crossing the roadway, police said. Police were assisted at the scene by the Ulster division of Tri-Township Ambulance, the Ulster-Sheshequin Fire Association and Furman and Jones Towing.

Harassment charge filed

A Gillett man was recently cited for harassment by state police at Towanda.

According to state police, at about 1:45 p.m. June 17, 25-year-old Thomas Earl Allen pushed and choked an adult female at a location on Cowboy Lane in Smithfield Township. Allen was cited for harassment in district court, police said.

Police investigating fraud

State police at Towanda are investigating a case of access device fraud against a Litchfield Township man.

According to state police, an unknown actor used the man's debit card to make multiple purchases June 3 from Microsoft Xbox Live in Washington. Police continue to investigate.

Man charged with assault

State police at Towanda recently incarcerated a Gillett man following a May 26 incident in Ridgebury Township.

According to state police, Douglas Edward Smith, 37, was taken into custody May 27 on charges of simple assault, endangering the welfare of children and harassment.

Police said Smith reportedly physically assaulted an 11-year-old boy known to him at a location on Monkey Run Road.

Smith was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, police said. Smith is scheduled to appear July 16 before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox for a preliminary hearing.

State police investigate child rape

State police are investigating the rape of a five-year-old female in Ridgebury Township.

According to state police at Towanda, police are investigating an allegation that the child was sexually assaulted by an unidentified male individual known to her between May and June 2014. Investigation into the allegation is ongoing, police said.

On May 31, officers were dispatched to investigate a dispute between neighbors in the 300 block of McClure Avenue. Officers were dispatched to assist Taylor police with a call in the 300 block of North Main Street.

On June 1, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a disorderly man in the 1100 block of Franklin Street.

On June 2, officers were dispatched to investigate a trespassing complaint in the 300 block of Marion Street. Police conducted a welfare check inside a home in the 900 block of Moosic Road. A dispute between neighbors sent officers to the 1200 block of Lori Lane.

On June 3, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a female yelling in the 400 block of Lawrence Street. A report of suspicious activity sent officers to a home in the 100 block of North Keyser Avenue.

On June 4, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a disorderly person in the 300 block of Main Street. A report of a fight in progress sent officers to Miles Street. Officers conducted two arrests.

On June 6, officers were dispatched to investigate an activated alarm in the 700 block of Moosic Road. Police assisted officers from Dunmore with a call in the 1200 block of South Main Street.

On June 7, officers were dispatched to investigate a verbal domestic in the 400 block of Melmore Street. A reported violation of a protection from abuse order sent officers to a home in the 100 block of South Keyser Avenue. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of illegal burning in the 100 block of Lonesome Road.

Officers returned to a home in the 400 block of Melmore Street to investigate a reported domestic dispute in progress. One person was arrested.

On June 8, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported theft in the 500 block of Summer Street. A verbal domestic dispute sent officers to a home in the 400 block of Melmore Street. Officers were dispatched to assist the fire department with a call in the 500 block of Moosic Road.

On June 9, officers were dispatched to investigate a harassment complaint in the 200 block of West Grace Street. Police were dispatched to investigate a report of illegal burning in the 100 block of Lonesome Road. Officers were sent to investigate a report of a disorderly person causing a problem in the 100 block of Sussex Street. Officers also responded to a home in the 100 block of Amity Avenue to assist the Lackawanna County Agency on Aging.

On June 10, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported theft at a home in the 100 block of Sussex Street. A reported noise complaint sent police to a home in the 100 block of Sussex Street.

On June 11, officers responded to the 600 block of South Main Street to investigate a report of a harassment.

On June 12, officers were dispatched to conduct a welfare check inside a home in the 1200 block of Mowry Street.

On June 13, officers responded to a home in the 100 block of Jones Street to investigate a report of two disorderly people inside the home causing a disturbance.

On June 14, officers were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Keyser Avenue to investigate a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers were also dispatched to investigate a report of juveniles causing a disturbance in the 800 block of West Oak Street.

On June 1, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Walmart parking lot on Main Street.

On June 2, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a loose dog roaming in and out of traffic on the Davis Street Bridge. A hit-and-run accident sent officers to the 100 block of Pond Street.

On June 3, officers were dispatched to investigate a hit-and-run accident at the Price Chopper on Main Street. Two complaints of retail theft sent officers to the Walmart on Main Street.

 

On June 4, officers were dispatched to investigate the violation of a protection from abuse (PFA) order inside a home in the 600 block of Union Street. A reported assault sent officers to a home in the 100 block of Union Street. Officers returned to a home in the 100 block of Union Street to investigate a reported domestic dispute.

A report of shoplifting sent officers to the 1300 block of Main Street. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a fight in progress in the 200 block of Main Street. Police issued a traffic citation in the 800 block of Union Street.

On June 5, officers were dispatched to investigate a motor vehicle accident (MVA) in the intersection of Main and Davis streets. Police conducted several traffic stops and issued citations on Union and Main streets.

Officers were also dispatched to assist Old Forge police with a call on South Keyser Avenue.

On June 6, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of an erratic driver on the Davis Street Bridge. A report of a domestic dispute in progress sent officers to a home in the 200 block of West Taylor Street. Officers were dispatched to investigate a reported assault in a home in the 1200 block of North Main Street.

Officers were dispatched to assist Old Forge police with a call in the 1200 block of Main Street. Activated burglar alarms sent officers to the 1400 and 900 blocks of Main Street.

A report of a suspicious vehicle sent officers to the 100 block of Church Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Bald Mountain Road. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). Police also issued a traffic citation on South Keyser Avenue.

On June 7, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of South Main Street. The driver was arrested for DUI. A dog complaint sent officers to the Walmart on Main Street. Police were sent to investigate a theft complaint in the 1200 block of Loomis Avenue. An activated alarm sent officers to the 1000 block of Williams Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Main Street.

Officers also conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of North Main Street. The driver was arrested for DUI.

Officers were dispatched to a home on Kennedy Boulevard to investigate an allegation of mail tampering. An MVA sent officers to the Walmart on Main Street.

On June 9, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Main Street. The driver was arrested for DUI. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of an erratic driver on Davis Street. Police were dispatched to investigate a report of a domestic dispute in a home in the 900 block of Keyser Avenue. Officers were sent to assist Old Forge police with a call in the 400 block of Melmore Street.

On June 10, officers were dispatched to investigate a MVA at McDade Park off of Keyser Avenue. Police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Oak Street. Police made a narcotics arrest in the 1300 block of Main Street at the Game Stop store.

On June 11, officers assisted the Scranton police with a call in the 100 block of Rinaldi Drive. A dispute between neighbors sent officers to a home in the 200 block of Sibley Avenue. Officers issued a traffic citation in the intersection of Schlager Street and Kerstetter Court. Police also conducted a traffic stop in the intersection of Oak and Third streets.

A custody dispute sent officers to a home in the 100 block of Colon Court. Officers were dispatched to investigate a reported use of false identification at the Walmart on Main Street. A report of suspicious people sent officers to the 500 block of Union Street.

On June 12, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported scam on West Grove Street. A retail theft sent officers to the Walmart on Main Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Union Street. Officers also issued a traffic citation in the intersection of Oak and Main streets.

On June 13, officers responded to investigate an animal complaint in the 1500 block of Main Street. Police were dispatched to assist the fire department with a call in the 100 block of Storrs Street. A report of an erratic driver sent officers to the 1300 block of Main Street. Officers were dispatched to investigate a criminal mischief complaint in the 1100 block of Main Street.

On June 14, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a dog barking in the 600 block of Von Bergen Street. Police made a narcotics and DUI arrest in the 100 block of Oak Street. Two retail theft complaints sent officers to the Walmart on Main Street. Officers were sent to investigate a loitering complaint at the intersection of Veteran’s Drive and Main Street.

On June 15, officers were dispatched to investigate a MVA in the Walmart entrance on Main Street. Officers also conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Main Street, resulting in a DUI arrest. A complaint of a barking dog sent officers to a home on Kennedy Boulevard. Officers also conducted an investigation on Kennedy Boulevard. A report of public drunkenness sent officers to the Walmart on Main Street.

On June 16, officers were dispatched to investigate an abandoned vehicle on Rockledge Terrace. Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Main Street. A reported disturbance sent officers to a home in the 400 block of Rock Street. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of suspicious people at the Radio Shack on Main Street. Police also responded to an MVA in the 300 block of Main Street. The driver was arrested for DUI.

On June 1, officers were dispatched to investigate a hit-and-run accident in the 100 block of Spring Street. A similar call sent officers to Pittston Avenue. Officers were dispatched to a reported fight in progress in the 800 block of Davis Street.

Officers were dispatched to investigate theft complaints in the 4100 block of Birney Avenue and the 1000 block of Springbrook Avenue. Officers were dispatched to investigate a motor vehicle accident on Montage Mountain Road.

On June 2, officers welfare dispatched to investigate a trespassing complaint in the 100 block of Main Street. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of illegal all terrain vehicle activity on Glenmaura Drive.

Police conducted an investigation in the 700 block of Minooka Avenue.

On June 3, officers were dispatched to investigate an activated alarm in the 2500 block of Birney Avenue. A hit-and-run accident sent officers to the Shoppes at Montage. Officers responded to investigate a report of an accident between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. Police were sent to investigate a disorderly conduct complaint in a home on Spruce Street. A domestic dispute in progress sent officers to a home in the 400 block of Fourth Street.
