Road signs damaged in Herrick Twp.
State police said they are trying to determine who knocked over and damaged several road signs at the intersection of Herrickville and Hiduk roads in Herrick Township.
The signs belong to Herrick Township, the Hope Baptist Church, and Stoney Point Camp, police said.
The vandalism took place sometime between 6 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 27, state police said.

Sayre man uninjured in crash
A Sayre man was involved in a recent motor vehicle accident in Laporte Township in which no one was injured, police said.
The accident occurred in the northbound lane of U.S. Route 220 as 29-year-old Matthew Blair of Montoursville was slowing down to make a right-hand turn, police said.
David Ashby, 45, of Sayre, who was traveling behind Blair's vehicle, failed to slow down, and his 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis rear-ended Blair's vehicle, police said.
Ashby's vehicle sustained severe front-end damage, while Blair's vehicle sustained severe rear-end damage, according to the state police at Laporte.
The accident occurred at 5:40 p.m. on Oct. 27, police said.
Towanda man cited for harassment
Peter Simon Aquilio, 36, of Towanda has been cited for harassment, police said.
The citation stems from an Oct. 19 incident in which Aquilio and a 37-year-old man from South Williamsport were arguing with each other at the Towanda Country Club in Wysox Township, police said.
At some point, the argument became physical, according to the state police at Towanda. Aquilio struck the South Williamsport man in the face with his head, police said.
Towanda man charged with theft by deception
Bryan James Comstock, 34, of Towanda has been charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property, state police said.
The charges were filed after Comstock was paid $4,000 on June 24, 2013 to do a roofing job at 113 Bridge St., Towanda, police said.
Comstock never ordered materials for the job, or started the job, police said.
The victim has continually attempted to contact Comstock, with negative results, police said.
Comstock was arraigned on the charges on Oct. 10, 2014 by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark.
Comstock was then released on non-monetary bail.
Comstock's preliminary hearing, which was originally scheduled for Nov. 4, 2014 in Wysox District Court, has been postponed to Nov. 11.
Paraphernalia arrest made
Employees with the Walmart store on Elmira Street in Athens Township called the police on Sept. 11 to report suspicious and disorderly individuals. While en route, officers were informed that the suspects had left the store and drove off in a grey sedan.
Officers with the Athens Township Police Department arriving to the scene spotted the vehicle turning onto Herrick Avenue from Elmira Street. The officers followed the vehicle for a short time and then stopped in on Herrick Avenue.
Upon completing the stop, officers noticed several items of paraphernalia used for imbibing marijuana, including a glass water bong, pipe, a glass pipe, wooden pipe and metal grinder.
At that point, the passenger, Arthur B. Krause, 18, of Lockwood was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He is set to answer to the charges with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Nov. 25.
Vehicle in ditch as a result of DUI
Troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Fairfield Road on May 14. Upon approaching the vehicle, troopers were able to detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the breath and person of the driver, Mary L. Patton, 63, of Towanda.
When asked to exit the vehicle and walk to the troopers' patrol car, Patton had extreme difficulty and was very unsteady on her feet. Patton was asked to complete standard field sobriety tests, but the officer stopped the testing due to the fear that Patton would injure herself or another. At this time, Patton was placed into custody and transported to Memorial Hospital in Towanda for chemical testing.
She was charged with DUI: general impairment; DUI: high rate of alcohol; and driving on roadways laned for traffic. She will face Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Nov. 25 for a preliminary hearing.
Argument results in violence
On Oct. 12, a woman arrived at the Towanda barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police to report that she was the victim of an assault at the hands of her boyfriend, Aaron S. Bennett, 30, of Wysox. The victim stated that she was dropping off Bennett's laundry at his residence when he came to her vehicle and "was looking to pick a fight with (her)."
She stated that she tried to pull away in her vehicle when Bennett began kicking and punching the car, causing dents and damage. He then jumped into the passenger seat of the vehicle and hit the victim several times in the face and mouth area, causing a busted lip. The victim also reported that Bennett choked her, leaving marks around her neck.
Bennett then jumped into the back seat where the victim's infant child was strapped into a seat. Bennett proceeded to remove the child from the seat, causing bruising to the child's arm. The victim and Bennett then struggled with each other before Bennett agreed to allow the mother to take her child.
She immediately left the area of the residence and went directly to the state police.
Bennett was arrested and subsequently charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment. He was pre-arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton and received $5,000 bail. He is set to face the charges in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas on Nov. 6.
Checks stolen
Pennsylvania State Police investigating the report of several stolen checks from an elderly individual resulted in the arrest of Amanda R. Saygi, 31, of Rome.
The victim was residing in an assisted living facility after receiving surgery. During her stay in the facility, Saygi allegedly removed several checks belonging to the victim and used them to purchase various gift cards.
The theft was not noticed until the victim's son noticed the discrepancy in the victim's finances.
Saygi was interviewed by troopers on Oct. 3, and admitted to using 13 checks between the dates of Aug. 13 and Sept. 7, totaling $1,033.03.
Saygi received a summons in the mail asking her to answer to the charges at a preliminary hearing with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.
Mailbox damaged
On Oct. 14, a victim on Tunnicliff Road in Herrick Township reported that an unknown person or persons did cause damage to the mailbox located on the property. Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda are investigating the report of criminal mischief.

Burglary by distraction reported
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a reported burglary which occurred on Oct. 24 in Ridgebury Township. During the commission of the crime, an unknown female arrived at the location in a silver station wagon. The female, described as a white female with black hair, distracted the victim by asking him questions about his camper for sale while the male, also described as a white male with short black hair, entered the victim's residence and took his prescription medication.
The unknown individuals then fled in an unknown direction. Both individuals are said to have spoken with a Brooklyn accent.

Charges for Halloween makeup theft
On Oct. 24, officers with the Athens Township Police Department were dispatched to the Walmart store on Elmira Avenue for a report of a male and female shoplifting.
The individuals were identified as 34-year-old Chadwick J. Buynak and 35-year-old Jody Frutchey, both of Waverly. During the commission of the crime, the individuals put items from the Halloween department in a backpack which was carried by Frutchey. The actions of the individuals was observed by members of the asset protection department on Walmart and relayed to officers as they arrived on scene.
Both Buynak and Frutchey received non-traffic citations in the mail to answer to the charge of retail theft.
DUIs
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Jerry Lee Wells, 54, of Towanda, by the Towanda police, on Sept. 11, on Main Street in Towanda. Wells, who lives on U.S. Route 220, exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication.
Cody Louis Odell, 24, of Wyalusing, by the Towanda police, on Sept. 21, on South Main Street in Towanda. A blood test revealed that Odell's blood alcohol content was .158 percent on the day of his arrest.
Michael S. Marcoccia, 52, of Horseheads, N.Y., by the Towanda police, on Sept. 25, on the Merrill Parkway in Towanda. A blood test revealed that Marcoccia's blood alcohol content was .203 percent on the day of his arrest.
The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Sullivan County:
James Thomas Wells Sr., 44, of Towanda, by the state police, on Nov. 4, on Molyneux Hill Road in Forks Township. The DUI charge is related to a non-reportable crash.
