Man found with drug paraphernalia

A Sayre man was recently charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Athens Township police.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Kyle Edward Chapman, 24, was also charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault.

Police said Chapman was found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe during investigation into a noise complaint at his Rosalyn Court apartment. During the investigation, Chapman slammed a door on an officer's shoulder and foot, police said.

Chapman's preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27.

Police investigate Rt. 220 MVA

State police at Laporte recently investigated a two-car motor vehicle accident on Route 220 in Cherry Township.

According to information from state police, at about 4:30 p.m. April 21, a northbound 1998 Subaru Impreza rear-ended a 2007 Dodge Ram that had slowed due to traffic ahead. No injuries occurred as a result of the accident, police said.

No injuries in Terry Twp. crash

State police at Towanda recently investigated a two-car motor vehicle accident in Terry Township.

According to information from state police, at about 5:49 p.m. April 25, a 2014 Nissan Rogue operated by Stella Knight, 68, of LeRaysville, struck a 2014 Dodge Ram after Knight conducted a U-turn in the intersection of Route 187 and Wyalusing-New Albany Road.

The Nissan had disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Jack Williams Towing, police said. The Ram, operated by 35-year-old Bryan Champluvier of Wyalusing, had functional damage and was not towed.

Both operators wore their seat belts and were uninjured, police said. Police cited Knight for violation of limitations on turning around.

Police were assisted at the scene by Wyalusing Valley Volunteer Fire Department fire police and Memorial Hospital EMS.

Police investigate loitering

State police at Towanda are investigating a loitering incident that occurred April 24 in Tuscarora Township.

According to state police, an Underhill Road resident reported that she saw a person on her front porch at about 11 p.m. April 24. The actor fled the scene and was gone when police arrived, police said.
