The following information was provided by the Hopewell Police Department.
- Assault-Aggravated: At 2:45 a.m. July 4, police responded to the 100 block of S. 12th Avenue in regards to an assault. Known offender assaulted victim with hands and glass, cutting victim on the head and was arrested.
- Assault-Aggravated: At 4 p.m. July 4, police responded to headquarters for a reported assault that occurred in the 2700 block of Portsmouth St. During argument, known offender assaulted victim by throwing cigarette rolling machine and was arrested.
- Assault-Aggravated/Domestic: At 9 p.m. July 4, police responded to the 4000 block of Kippax Drive in regards to a domestic assault. During an argument, known offender assaulted victim by punching and choking and was arrested.
- Brandishing Firearm: At 1:44 a.m. July 4, police responded to the 500 block of Winston Churchill Drive for a reported assault and brandishing. During argument, known offender brandished firearm while another offender assaulted victim with hands.
- Burglary/Breaking and Entering/Residential: At 7:48 a.m. July 1, police responded to the 2600 block of Pickett Street for a reported burglary. Unknown offender entered residence via previously damaged rear door and stole change, shotgun, training rifle, pellet gun and safe.
- Burglary/Breaking and Entering/Residential: At 6:30 p.m. July 2, police responded to the 100 block of Crescent Avenue for a reported burglary. Unknown offender entered residence via previously damaged rear door and stole cash, watch, jewelry box and wallet.
- Burglary/Breaking and Entering/Residential: At 10 a.m. July 4, police responded to the 2500 block of Freeman Street for a reported burglary. Unknown offender entered residence by removing window a/c unit, ransacked residence and stole three TVs.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation: At 12:55 p.m. July 1, police responded to the area of S. 8th Avenue and Buren Street for a reported narcotic activity. Known offender was found to be in possession of narcotics and was arrested.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation: At 8:04 p.m. July 5, police responded to the intersection of Portsmouth Street and Moultrie Avenue for a reported suspicious incident. Known offender was found to be intoxicated and in possession of narcotics and was arrested.
- Larceny-All Other Larceny: At 8:30 p.m. July 5, police responded to the 200 block of Appomattox Street for a reported larceny. Unknown offender stole kayak from roadway. Kayak later returned.
- Larceny-All Other Larceny: At 10 p.m. July 3, police responded to the 800 block of Broadway in reference to a larceny. Unknown offender stole unsecured lawn mower from residential yard.
- Larceny-All Other Larceny: At 12 p.m. July 5, police responded to the 2600 block of Maple Street for a reported larceny. Unknown offender stole a firearm from a residence.
- Larceny-All Other Larceny: At 3:45 a.m. July 5, police responded to the 2400 block of Grant Street for a reported larceny. Known offender stole stereo equipment from trailer, some of which was recovered.
- Larceny-All Other Larceny: At 11:32 p.m. July 8, police responded to the 1800 block of New Lincoln Circle for a reported suspicious circumstance. Two known juvenile offenders stole a can of gas. Petitions pending.
- Larceny-Theft From Building: At 6:30 a.m. July 5, police responded to the 1400 block of Sunnyside Avenue for a reported larceny. Unknown offender stole game system from residence.
- Larceny-Theft From Building: At 12 p.m. July 6, police responded to the 2100 block of Dellrose Drive for a reported larceny. Unknown offender stole heat pump from outside of residence.
- Motor Vehicle Theft/Moped, Motorcycle, Other Vehicle: At 2:05 a.m. July 2, police responded to the 2500 block of Oaklawn Boulevard for a reported larceny. Unknown offender stole scooter from outside of business.
- Motor Vehicle Theft/Moped, Motorcycle, Other Vehicle: At 12 p.m. July 7, police responded to the 2000 block of Liberty Avenue in reference to a larceny. Unknown offender stole unsecured scooter from rear yard.
- Robbery/Commercial: At 4:44 a.m. July 7, police responded to the 2000 block of W. Broadway for a reported robbery. Unknown masked offender entered business, brandished handgun, stole cash and fled.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction of Property: At 12:03 p.m. July 1, police responded to the 2400 block of Lee Street for a reported vandalism. Unknown offender broke vehicle window.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction of Property: At 4 p.m. July 2, police responded to the 2400 block of Danville Street for a reported vandalism. Unknown offender punctured vehicle tires.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction of Property: At 12:20 a.m. July 3, police responded to the 300 block of E. Broadway for a report of suspicious circumstances. Unknown offender broke business front window.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction of Property: At 10 p.m. July 3, police responded to the 500 block of E. Randolph Road for a reported vandalism. Unknown offender broke business front door glass.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction of Property: At 10 p.m. July 3, police responded to the 3300 block of Courthouse Road for a reported vandalism. Unknown offender broke vehicle rear window.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction of Property: At 1 p.m. July 7, police responded to the 3500 block of Courthouse Road for a reported vandalism. Unknown offender spray painted a residential storm door.
- Weapon Law Offenses: At 11:25 p.m. July 7, police responded to the 1800 block of Stewart Avenue for reported shots fired in the 1400 block of Pine Ave. Unknown offenders shot into occupied vehicle. No injuries.
