Dirt bike stolen

State police at Towanda are investigating the theft of a dirt bike from a Wysox Township location.

According to state police, between June 20 and June 30, an unknown actor or actors entered a garage at a Wickwire Way location and stole a KTM brand dirt bike. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Towanda PD to conduct aggressive driving enforcement

The Towanda Borough Police Department will conduct aggressive driving enforcement activities as part of a statewide effort from July 7 to Aug. 31, according to a release from the department.

The law enforcement activities will be conducted on Route 6, Merrill Parkway, Route 220 and all roads leading to and from those roadways in Towanda Borough, according to police.

State and municipal police will focus on red light running, tailgating and speeding during the enforcement period, police said. Police also plan to cite motorists for other unsafe behavior including driving too fast for conditions, following too closely, distracted driving and seat belt law violations.

Police arrest fugitive from justice

State police at Towanda recently arrested a Sayre man found to have a warrant out of New York State.

According to state police, Kevin Michael Zingeser, 39, was found to have a warrant during a July 4 traffic stop on Route 220 in Athens Township. Zingeser was taken into custody and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton, police said.

Police investigate domestic dispute

State police at Towanda recently cited a Towanda man for harassment following a domestic dispute in Asylum Township.

According to state police, at about 9:05 p.m. June 14, an adult male victim reported that William Frederick Frisbie, 36, harassed and threatened him during a dispute at a Kerrick Hill Road location.

Charges against Frisbie were filed in district court and the case will proceed via summons, police said.

Police investigating child rape

State police at Towanda are investigating a reported child rape incident in the Monroeton area.

According to state police, a juvenile female alleged that a person known to her raped her between Sept. 2012 and March 2013. Investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
