Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently pled guilty and were sentenced in Bradford County Magisterial District Courts:
Walter Donovan, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $50 and court costs. Corporal Norman Strauss of the Pennsylvania State Police cited Donovan for the offense on July 21, 2014, following investigation of an assault that occurred in Sheshequin Township.
Travis Chesla, 22, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of False Reports, a summary and was sentenced to a fine of $200 and court costs. Officer John Werner of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Chesla for the offense on June 22, 2014, following investigation of a False Reports that occurred in Towanda Borough.
Charles Stern, 34, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $50 and court costs. Officer John Werner of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Stern for the offense on June 20, 2014, following investigation of an assault that occurred in Towanda Borough.
Jonathan Brown, 24, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Furnishing Alcohol to Minors, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and was sentenced to a fine $1000 and court costs. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bellows for the offense on May 24, 2014, following investigation of a Furnishing Alcohol to Minors that occurred in Towanda Township.
Robert Yates IV, 20, Dushore, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to a fine of $100, and court costs. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Yates for the offense on May 3, 2014, following investigation of a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia that occurred in North Towanda Township.
Matthew Dunn, 33, Monroeton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Misdemeanor and was sentenced to a fine of $100 and court costs.
Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Dunn for the offense on June 5, 2014, following investigation of a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia that occurred in Towanda Borough.
Timothy Bailey, 34, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to a fine of $100 and court costs.
Sergeant David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bailey for the offense on April 30, 2014, following investigation of a possession of drug paraphernalia that occurred in Towanda Borough.
Emory Johnson, 28, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge, Jonathan Wilcox, to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to fines and costs.
Corporal Douglas Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Johnson for the offense, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Burlington Township.
Brian Lee, 24, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge, Jonathan Wilcox, to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to fines and costs. Trooper Robert Richter of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lee for the offense on July 4, following investigation of an incident that occurred in Columbia Township.
Ben Nogar, 54, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge, Michael Shaw, to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a summary offense and Public Drunkenness, also a summary offense and was sentenced to a suspension of 30 days and a fine of $400.00 and court costs. Officer Cody Welch of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Nogar for the offense on July 12, 2014, following investigation of a Disorderly Conduct that occurred in Athens Borough.
Jeremy Searles Jr., Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge, Michael Shaw to the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to 13 days and court costs. Officer Nathan Ross of the Sayre Borough Police arrested Searles for the offense on July 11, 2014, following investigation of a Theft that occurred in Sayre Borough.
Angelia Cardena, 37, Elmira, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge, Michael Shaw, to the offense of Retail Theft, a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $200 and court costs.
Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Cardena for the offense on June 22, 2014, following investigation of a retail theft that occurred in Athens Township.

SENTENCED
Joshua Vanderpool, 23, Rome, Pa., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from three months to 23 months, 29 days for the offense of Theft by Deception, a misdemeanor; Trooper Mark Sadowski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vanderpool following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.
Jesse Dupont, 21, Troy, Pa., was resentenced following revocation of a sentence of Probation to a term in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 45 days to 12 months for the offense of Criminal Trespass, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Michael Northrup of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Dupont for the offense on Oct. 6, 2012.
Casandra Dimarro, 31, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 72 hours to six months, and also received a four day sentence for contempt for failure to appear for sentencing on March 26, 2012, he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Dimarco for the offense on Sept. 4, 2011.
Casey Lynn Shedden, 23, Athens, Pa., was sentenced to a fine of $500 and Probation for a term of 36 months, for the offense of Possession with intent to deliver. Trooper Michael Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Shedden following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.
Shawn C. Watkins, 41, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 14 months to 48 months for the offense of Assault and Resisting Arrest. The sentence will run consecutive to a sentence imposed in 2014 for 22 months to six years for drug charges for a combined sentence of 36 months to 10 years. Officer Ryan Edsell of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Watkins for the offense in November 2013.
David Terkay, 57, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a fine of $500.00, Probation for a term of 12 months; he will also lose his driver's license for six months for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Terkay for the offense in October.
Matthew Smithkors, 21, Sayre, Pa., was resentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 22 days to 12 months, for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Smithkors had been sentenced earlier but failed to comply with parole. Officer Eric Keir of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Smithkors for the offense in 2010.
Lee M. Hatch, 25, Friendsville, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility of from three days to six months and fines of $1,100, and restitution of $433 for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol and Criminal Mischief. Trooper Michael Tereska of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hatch following investigation of an incident that occurred in Windham Township.
GUILTY PLEAS
Desiree E. Thoubburon, 41, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Thoubburon will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Thoubburon following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.
Denise Wilson, 47, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (hypodermic needle), a misdemeanor. Wilson will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Deputy Brian Wibirt of the Bradford County Sheriff's Office charged Wilson for the offense in April. Wilson was arrested on pending warrants and was found to have the needle in her possession.
ACCELERATED REHABILITATIVE DISPOSITION (ARD)
David Terkay, 57, Waverly, N.Y., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Terkay will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Terkay must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel as conditions of ARD placement; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges in October for the offense in Sayre Borough.
Samantha Brown, 30, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Theft, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Brown will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Brown must perform 40 hours of community service and pay restitution. Officer Denny Slater of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on April 15, 2014 for the offense in Athens Township.
NOLO CONTENDERE
Christopher Walters, 27, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of nolo contendere/no contest to Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Walters will be sentenced following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A no-contest plea is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced. Officer Sean Flynn of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Walters for the offense.
