Towanda man charged with assault
Frederick Doug Bombacie, 58, of Towanda has been charged with simple assault and harassment, police said.
The charges stem from an incident in which Bombacie allegedly punched a female several times about the face and head after the two had gotten into an argument, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Aug. 30 at a location in Towanda Township, according to the state police at Towanda.
Bombacie was arraigned before Wysox Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton. Bombacie was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Bombacie must attend a preliminary hearing today before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark.
Theft occurs in Dushore
Someone recently stole gasoline from a gas container that was located along the parking lot of the Overton Apartments on Overton Road in Dushore Borough, police said.
In addition, there were three gray rug mats that were stolen from the facility, state police said.
The thefts occurred on Thursday, police said.

Theft occurs at Wysox business
Someone stole scrap metal from Jack Williams Tire & Auto Service Center on U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township, police said.
Stolen from the business were 40 used brake rotors and a used steel Dodge dual rim, state police said.
The theft occurred sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 and 6 a.m. on Aug. 22, police said.

Vehicle allegedly takes down wires in Mildred
An unknown commercial vehicle is said to have pulled down phone wires in the village of Mildred in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, police said.
The vehicle, which was blue, was last seen heading south on state Route 487, police said.
The incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, state police at Laporte said.
