PETERSBURG - City of Petersburg Sheriff, Vanessa R. Crawford extends to the citizens of Petersburg, an invitation to attend the monthly Triad S.A.L.T. Council meeting on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road. The speaker is Morgan Smith with Colonial Heights Healthcare and Rehab Center. The topic: Falling In Love is Fun, Falling Down.
Morgan Smith with the Colonial Heights Healthcare and Rehab will come and share Preventive ways from Falling in the Home. She has been in the healthcare business for over 13 years and love sharing and working with the senior citizens community.
Each year, thousands of older Americans fall at home. Many of them are seriously injured, and some are disabled. Falls are often due to hazards that are easy to overlook but easy to fix. She will discuss ways to look at the floors in each room of your homes, the stairs, steps, kitchen and eating area, your bathrooms, the lighting in your bedrooms and other things you can do to prevent falls. We will have a check for safety list to take home to help you in your home. Come out and learn about these safety tips.
Triad S.A.L.T. Councils (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) are busy year-round, building crime-fighting relationships between older citizens and their local law enforcement representatives. They are discovering new ways of enhancing the lives of those who have already given much to help their children and grandchildren grow and prosper.
