People injured in crash
Two people had minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 4:40 p.m. Feb. 22 on Route 14 in Troy Township, said state police at Towanda.
Drivers involved in the crash were Maggie M. Gilliland, 37, of Canton, who was not injured, and Nicole L. Secules, 42, of Towanda, who was not injured, according to police.
Police said Gilliland, driving a Ford Escape, was traveling south on Route 14, about one-half mile south of Troy Borough, and Secules, driving a Chevrolet Traverse, was stopped in the roadway, waiting to turn left into a car wash.
While traveling, Gilliland failed to see the other vehicle stopped in the roadway and was unable to stop before impact. Both vehicles came to final rest in the southbound shoulder area of Route 14, and were towed, police said.
A 14-year-old female passenger from Canton in Gilliland's vehicle had a minor injury, and Ty Secules, 46, of Towanda, a passenger in Nicole Secules' vehicle, had a minor injury, police said.
Police said Gilliland was charged with "careless driving."
No injuries
State police at Towanda said Christopher T. Bomba II, 23, of Unadilla, N.Y. was not injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 21 on Route 14 in Canton Township.
According to police, he was traveling south and lost traction on the snow-covered roadway. While traveling on a right curve, he lost control of his Ford Explorer, striking a tree and then spinning counter-clockwise and coming to final rest in a ditch on the west side of the roadway.
Police said his vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front end, and was towed.
Bomba was charged with a violation of "safe speeds," said police.
One injured
State police at Towanda one person was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 1 p.m. Feb. 21 on Bailey Corners Road in West Burlington Township.
According to police, Cory L. Ragan, 30, of Blossburg was traveling south downhill on a right curve. He lost control of his Chrysler PT Cruiser on the snow-covered roadway, and traveled into the southbound berm, striking a ditch and overturning. Police said the vehicle, which sustained disabling damage, came to final rest facing north in the southbound berm on its roof. Ragan was not injured.
William M. Schell, 37, of Canton, a passenger in Ragan's vehicle, suffered a minor shoulder injury and was transported to Troy Community Hospital.
Police said Ragan was charged with a violation of "roadways laned for traffic."
Identity theft reported
State police at Towanda said Belinda Sue Packard, 56, of Troy, came into the state police barracks in Towanda Feb. 18 and reported that the IRS sent her a letter that said someone unknown tried to file a tax return in her name. She was advised to make a police report.
Underage drinking
State police at Towanda said Jonathan Sherman, 19, of Troy, was one of several individuals who were cited for underage drinking for an incident that occurred at 10:25 p.m. Feb. 20 on Robbins Road, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pa.
Police said he will be charged before Magisterial District Court 04-3-03.
Rape reported
State police at Towanda said they are investigating the rape of a female juvenile that was reported to have occurred at unknown times around Nov. 15 in Warren Township.
The suspect is a person known to the victim, police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
