One vehicle accident with no injuries occurs

Kolyn M. Mott, 19, of Towanda lost control of his vehicle around 4:33 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, on Lake Road, in Wysox Township, state police in Towanda reported.

According to police, Mott's vehicle, a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, went off the west side of Lake Road and overturned.

No injuries were reported as a result of this accident.

Juvenile assaults school employee

Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda are investigating an incident in which an 11-year-old juvenile assaulted an employee at the BLaST School in Monroe Township.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at 10:25 a.m. on Feb. 25.

A juvenile petition was filed at the Bradford County Court House on the juvenile for the charges of simple assault and harassment, police said.

Towanda man arrested on charge of harassment

Jeremy M. McKenzie, 28, of Towanda was arrested at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 21, at the Bucket of Blood Bar in Towanda Township, state police in Towanda reported.

According to police, McKenzie struck a 25-year-old female in the face while at the bar.

Rome man charged with DUI following accident

Michael Anthony Howard, 46, of Rome faces charges of DUI and other charges following an accident in which his vehicle left the road, struck a barn, rolled over and then struck a tree.

According to state police in Towanda, the accident occurred at approximately at 2:11 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, on Ghent Hill Road in Sheshequin Township.

An off-duty police officer observed Howard fishtailing all over the road prior to the accident and after the accident the officer noticed the smell of alcohol emanating from Howard as he helped to free him from the wreckage, police said. A small cooler of beer had also fallen out of the cab of the crashed vehicle, police said.

Howard was transported to Robert Packer Hospital for treatment of his injuries, where Howard informed a trooper that he had consumed two beers prior to the operation of his 1997 Ford Ranger TK.

Howard faces a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 9 a.m. on March 27.
