Bradford County Court News 8/2/2015

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported the following criminal case resolutions in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

SENTENCED

Christopher Allen, 26, of Wellsboro, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 30 days to 12 months, fines of $300, plus court costs, for the offense of Possession w/Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a felony. Trooper Mike Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Allen following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township in February 2014.

Robert Douglas, 40, LeRaysville, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for 15 days to six months, fines of $300, plus court costs, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Christopher Schelling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Douglas following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township on March 1, 2015.

Joseph Johnson, 25, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to six months, fines of $500, plus court costs, he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Johnson for the offense occurring on Feb. 28, 2015.

Robert Zammer, 55, Philadelphia, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $750 plus court costs, for the offense of Obstruction of Administration of Law, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Michael O'Boyle of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Zammer following investigation of an incident that occurred in Armenia Township on Nov. 8, 2014.

John Sampson, 58, of Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of six months, fines of $750, plus court costs, for the offense of Harassment, a summary offense, Confinement of Containment Required, also a summary offense and Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Jeremy Horton, Officer Sean Flynn and Officer Nathan Ross all of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Sampson for the offense occurring on Oct. 19, 2014.

Richard Vargson, 26, Towanda, Pa., was resentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 10 days to 12 months, fines of $500, plus court cost, restitution of $400, for the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vargson following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township on September 2013.

Rachel Williams, 27, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for 45 days (flat), followed by County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months (County Intermediate Punishment involves a combination of restrictions and supervision; it may include home confinement, electronic monitor, and substance abuse treatment; violations can result in incarceration), fines of $1,500, plus court costs, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Williams for the offense occurring in March 2015.

Zachary Martin, 24, of Ulster, Pa., was resentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for 30 days to 12 months, fines of $500, plus court costs, restitution of $2,100, for the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper Mark Sadowoski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Martin following investigation of an incident that occurred in Sheshequin Township in May 2014.

GUILTY PLEAS

Kristopher Reeves, 30, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Reeves will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Reeves following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township on March 15, 2014.

Timothy Short, 38, Wysox, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Short will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Short following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township on Sept. 21, 2014.

Thomas Fabyan, 26, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Terroristic Threats, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Fabyan will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael O'Boyle of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Fabyan following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough on March 3, 2015.

Jenna Nicholas, 29, Rome, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Nicholas will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Peter Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Nicholas following investigation of an incident that occurred in Rome Township.

Mallory Manzer, 31, Gillett, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Manzer will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Sergeant James Shaw of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Manzer for the offense on Jan. 20, 2015.

Haley Edsell, 19, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Access Device Fraud, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Edsell will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Steve Steranski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Edsell following investigation of an incident that occurred in Orwell Township on May 13, 2014.

Brenda Jo Johnson, 56, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Johnson will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Johnson following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township.

Roger Evans, 18, Rome, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Evans was sentenced to pay a fine of $100, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Evans following investigation of an incident that occurred in Orwell Township on Feb. 19, 2015.

Ronald H. Simpson, 44, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor, and Recklessly Endangering another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Simpson will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Tribendis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Simpson following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Township.

Charles Carr, 33, Wellsboro, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Home Improvement Fraud, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Carr will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Jeffrey Sredenschek of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Carr following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ulster Township.

William McClintic Sr., 50, Monroeton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. McClintic will be sentenced on Sept. 10, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Deputy Donald Stringham of the Bradford County Sheriff's Department arrested McClintic for the offense on Jan. 30, 2015.

Levi Cole, 19, Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Cole will be sentenced on Aug. 27, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Chief Doug Seeley of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Cole for the offense in January 2015.

Abigail Ferguson, 23, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft by Deception, a misdemeanor of the first degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Ferguson will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Keith Roman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Ferguson following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township on Jan. 25, 2015.

Rebecca Crane, 27, Ulster, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Conspiracy/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Crane will be sentenced on Aug. 24, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Nikki Hoffman of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Crane for the offense on June 6, 2014.

ACCELERATED REHABILITATIVE DISPOSITION (ARD)

Abigail Ferguson, 23, Wyalusing, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Ferguson will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Ferguson must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and will lose Pennsylvania driving privileges for 30 days. Trooper Christopher Schelling of the Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges on Jan. 4, 2015 for the offense in Standing Stone Township.

Jessica Lamoreavx, 34, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Lamoreavx will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Lamoreavx must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and she will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Jeremy Horton of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges on Feb. 22, 2015, for the offense in Sayre Borough.

Chester Harris, 51, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Harris will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Harris must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department filed the charges on Feb. 22, 2015, for the offense in Athens Borough.

William Cassellbury, 54, Wysox, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Cassellbury will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Cassellbury must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper Christopher Schelling of the Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges on March 14, 2015 for the offense in Wysox Township.

Rachael Satterly, 22, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Satterly will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Satterly must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and she will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department filed the charges on March 28, 2015 for the offense in Athens Borough.

Robert Abrams, 21, Monroeton, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Abrams will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Abrams must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Corey McLinko of the Towanda Borough Police Department filed the charges on March 31, 2015 for the offense in Towanda Borough.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following person(s) recently entered a plea of Nolo Contendere in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

NOLO CONTENDERE

Porshea Moore, 30, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of nolo contendere/no contest to Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Moore will be sentenced on Aug. 27, 2015, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A no-contest plea is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced. Officer Daniel Thomas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Moore for the offense in April 2015.
