Vehicle strikes trees in Overton Twp.

Jason J. Gallagher, 33, of Overton was uninjured in a recent accident on Morris Road in Overton Township, police said.

Gallagher was traveling east on Morris Road when his vehicle's rear end seized, causing Gallagher to lose control of the vehicle on the dirt roadway, police said.

Gallagher's 1984 Chevrolet C10 traveled off the left side of the roadway and down an embankment, striking several trees, police said.

The accident occurred at 9:19 p.m. on July 21, state police at Towanda said.

Sayre woman charged with criminal mischief

Liza Jane Johnson, 22, of Sayre is accused of smashing out the side window of a trailer on Tulip Lane in Wysox Township.

During the incident, Johnson also allegedly damaged the front door of the trailer, police said.

The trailer is owned by 57-year-old William Edward Grogan of Towanda, police said.

The incident occurred at 4:12 p.m. on July 26, police said.

Johnson has been charged with criminal mischief, state police at Towanda said.

Stolen vehicle recovered in Cherry Twp.

A stolen black 2000 Mercury Mountaineer SUV was located at the end of the entrance to the Fairview Cemetery, off Horseshoe Road in Cherry Township, police said.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from the parking lot of the Columbia County Mall in Bloomsburg, police said.

The incident occurred between July 11 and July 12, state police said.

Man charged with assault in Towanda

Julian Jesus Cantu, 26, of Towanda has been charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment, police said.

The charges stem from a July 23 incident in which Cantu allegedly punched a man in the face at Finlan's Tavern on Main Street in Towanda, police said.

The victim suffered a swollen left eye and a bloody nose, and was treated for his injuries at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital, Towanda police said.

Cantu was arraigned on July 23 by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark. Cantu was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Cantu's preliminary hearing, which was originally scheduled for July 29, has been postponed to Aug. 12.
