Juvenile arrested

State police at Towanda said a 16-year-old Sayre juvenile was arrested for grabbing and striking at 17-year-old Gillett juvenile sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. July 28 at the Troy Fairgrounds in Troy Township.

Police said charges for harassment were filed at District Court 42-3-01.

 

Bike stolen

Annette L. Morseman, 56, of Troy, told state police at Mansfield that a black and yellow 21-speed Mongoose mountain bike and a white and black 21-speed Shogun mountain bike were stolen from her residence sometime between July 24 and July 28 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Police said the loss is estimated at $460.

 

Items taken

Michael Dewayne Vanhorn, 53, of Canton told state police at Mansfield that someone unknown broken into two of his residences sometime between 7 p.m. July 19 and 7:35 p.m. July 23 on Spencer Road, Union Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Police said a 10-point Stealth XLT crossbow worth $1,600, a Lone Wolfe climbing tree stand valued at $400, Midland radios worth $150, a Craftsman tool belt with various tools valued at $200, a bowhunter safety harness worth $68, and a blue Makita circular saw worth $150 were taken.

Sayre man charged with retail theft

Kevin Neil Alger, 36, of Sayre, has been charged with retail theft and driving with a suspended license by Athens Township Police following a June 8 incident at the Elmira Street Walmart in Athens, according to Athens police.

Police responded to the store and the assistant manager told police a male, later identified as Alger, exited the store without paying for several items, police said.

The manager told police he confronted Alger in the parking lot and that Alger hurriedly placed items in the truck in which he drove away quickly, police said.

After reviewing security footage and transaction records, police identified Alger and witnessed him place a plant and other unidentified items in his cart, police said.

Police said Alger entered a guilty plea to a retail theft charge from Village of Waverly Police in 2014.

Alger has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Sept. 1 for his preliminary hearing.

 

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged in Bradford County with driving while under the influence:

Elizabeth Martha Collins, 30, of Towanda, was also charged by state police on July 15 with careless driving and reckless driving. Collins was charged on July 15 following a traffic stop on U.S. Route 6 in Towanda. After being taken into custody, Collins agreed to submit to a blood test at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital in Towanda, which revealed that presence of Temazepam and Lorazepam in her bloodstream on the day of her arrest. Collins has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark on Aug. 28.

Brian James Ridl, 42, of Dushore, has also been charged by Towanda police with driving on the wrong side of the road; careless driving; and operating a vehicle while his license was suspended (DUI related). Ridl was charged on July 2 following a traffic stop on Main Street in Towanda. After being
