Sayre man facing drug charge
Patrick Joseph Henderson, 24, of Sayre, was charged with drug paraphernalia possession by Sayre Borough Police on July 28 following a call from Henderson's mother saying he was conscious but unresponsive.
The mother told police Henderson took medication and drank a bottle of rum and liqueur, police said.
Police said Henderson was a known heroin user and they found three hypodermic needles and three spoons with residue.
Henderson has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Aug. 25 for his preliminary hearing.
Second woman charged in May Walmart theft
Chelsea Marie Vanderpool, 18, of Athens, was charged with retail theft by Athens Township Police on July 6.
Vanderpool was charged after police reviewed footage from May 1 at the Elmira Street Walmart in Athens Township, where they observed her and Marie Renee Stedge, who was also charged in the incident, take several items from the store without paying, police said.
The pair told police they stole household items to furnish an attic room they moved to in order to get a dog, police said.
Vanderpool has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Sept. 8 for her preliminary hearing.
Man charged with copper wire theft
Athens Township Police charged Richard Lee Henderson, 27, of Easton, Pa., with burglary; criminal conspiracy; criminal trespassing; theft by unlawful taking or disposition; criminal mischief, damage to property; and receiving stolen property, all felony counts, police said.
Henderson told police he helped Howard Johnson, who was charged with multiple felony charges in later copper thefts from the Nomac facility on King Road, break into the facility, steal and sell copper wire, police said.
Henderson was released on nonmonetary bail and has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Aug. 18 for his preliminary hearing.
Monroeton man charged with theft
David Lee Alvoid Jr. of Monroeton is accused of using his sister's checking account, without her permission, in order to purchase $3,689 worth of items on eBay, police said.
Alvoid made the purchases using his mother's eBay account, while she was out of town, police said.
The incident occurred on April 8 and April 9 in Franklin Township, state police at Towanda said.
As a result of this incident, the 18-year-old Alvoid has been charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, access device fraud, and identity theft, police said.
Alvoid was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Aug. 4. Alvoid was then released on non-monetary bail.
Alvoid must attend a preliminary hearing on Wednesday in Towanda District Court.
Towanda man charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
Terry Richard Satterly, 32, of Towanda had a hypodermic needle in one of his pockets when he was pulled over by police on River Road in Towanda, police said.
The traffic stop occurred on July 10 after police observed him driving erratically and believed he might be impaired, police said.
As a result of this incident, Satterly was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Towanda police said.
