Bradford County Court News 9/8/2013

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently entered guilty pleas and were sentenced in Bradford County Magisterial District Courts:

John Hyjek, 33, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Disorderly Conduct and was sentenced to four days incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility. Officer Jeremy Horton of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Hyjek for the offense in August 2012.

Jefferey Everetts, 31, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a fine of $300 and court costs. Officer Thomas Wilson of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Everetts for the offense in June 2013.

Leonard Brown, 32, Monroe, La., entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offenses of Soliciting Without a License and Harassment and was sentenced to 14 days imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility plus a fine of $600 and court costs. Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Brown for the offenses in August 2012.

Donald Faust, 48, Ralston, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Harassment and was sentenced to seven days imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility and payment of court costs. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Faust for the offense in April 2012.

Cody Varga, 25, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Public Drunkenness and was sentenced to pay a fine of $300 and court costs. Officer Thomas Wilson of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Varga for the offense in July 2013.

Michael Miner, 52, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Disorderly Conduct and was ordered to pay a fine of $200 and court costs. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Miner for the offense in June 2013.

Lyle W. Brown, 60, Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Disorderly Conduct and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term equal to the number of days served from the time of his arrest to sentencing, a fine of $150, and court costs. Trooper Brandon Allis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Brown for the offense in June 2013 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Burlington Township.

John D. Wright, 55, Roaring Branch, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Disorderly Conduct and was sentenced to pay a fine and court costs. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wright for the offense in April 2013 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Township.

David Griffith, 48, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Harassment and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for six days and payment court costs. Trooper George Layou of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Griffith for the offense in August 2013 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroeton Borough.

Terese Hiller, 31, Granville Summit, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a fine of $100 and court costs. Corporal Walter Koehler of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hiller for the offense in March 2013 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroe Township.

David Benjamin, 51, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Public Drunkenness and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for nine days and payment of court costs. Officer Timothy Cahill of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Benjamin for the offense in August 2013 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Borough.

Roger Hitchcock, 57, Rome, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Harassment and was ordered to pay court costs. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hitchcock for the offense in March 2013 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Windham Township.

Barbara Nusbaum, 43, Sayre, Pa., entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to two counts of the offense of Harassment and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for two days, a fine of $200, and court costs. Trooper Joshua Fisher of Pennsylvania State Police and Nathan Ross of the Sayre Borough Police Department, respectively, arrested Nusbaum for the offenses in June 2013 following investigation of incidents that occurred in Litchfield Township.

Michael Bormann, 24, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Defiant Trespass and was sentenced to six days imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional facility and court costs. Sergeant David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bormann for the offense in August 2013 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Daniel Heeman, 30, Mansfield, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Driving While Operating Privilege Suspended (DUI-related) and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 60 days, plus a fine of $500, and court costs. Officer John Hennessy of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Heeman for the offense in August 2013.
