Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced the following criminal case resolutions in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:
Rance Soule, 55, Waverly, NY, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 36 months to 10 years for the offense of Aggravated Indecent Assault.
Christopher Harmatuk, 32, Binghamton, NY, was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for a term of 24 months, and a fine of $300.00, for the offense of Retail Theft.
Dylan Robbins, 21, Laceyville, PA, was sentenced to probation for a term of one year, and a fine of $150.00, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Dustin Poulton, 23, Troy, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional facility of from three months to 23 months, and probation for two additional years, for two counts of the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Additionally, Poulton was ordered to pay a fine of $200 and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Poulton was also ordered to reimburse the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the amount of $375 for money used to purchase a controlled substance during the event that led to his arrest, and he will be required to pay a fine of $200.
Brandon Wright, 28, Sayre, PA, was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 13 months to four years, and fines totaling $300, for the offenses of Burglary and Retail Theft.
Julie Falsey, 35, Monroeton, PA, was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for a term of 24 months with the first 92 days to be served in the Bradford County Correctional Facility, and probation for an additional term of two years, for the offenses of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Falsey was also ordered to reimburse the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the amount of $195.00 for money used to purchase a controlled substance during the event leading to her arrest and she will be required to pay fines totaling $500.00. She will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 18 months.
Jeremy Worthington, 42, Ulster, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 12 months, and a fine of $150.00, for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Worthington will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for six months.
Matthew Malorzo, 26, Sayre, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 18 months to four years, and a fine of $300.00, for the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance. Malorzo will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for six months.
Heather Wilcox, 41, Wellsboro, PA was resentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 60 days to 12 months followed by probation for an additional term of two years, and fines totaling $2000.00, for the offenses of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer and two counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Wilcox will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 36 months.
Travis Ott, 37, Alba, PA was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from eight months to three years, and a fine of $300.00, for the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking.
Adam Polowy, 29, Athens, PA was sentenced to probation for a term of two years for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property; he was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $310.00.
Thomas Scott, 53, Granville Summit, PA was resentenced, following revocation of his earlier sentence of County Intermediate Punishment for violation of program conditions, to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of from one year to three years, and a fine of $2,500.00, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Scott will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 18 months.
Joshua Ellenberger, 28, Canton, PA, was resentenced, following revocation of his original sentence of probation for violation of probation conditions, to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 16 days to 18 months; he was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $200.00.
Jason Stroud, 34, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance; he will be sentenced on November 14, 2013. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Stroud for the offense.
Joseph Ruddy, 25, Scranton, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and was sentenced to probation for a term of six months and a fine of $300.00. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Ruddy for the offense.
Melinda Salsman, 27, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance; she will be sentenced on December 19, 2013. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Salsman for the offense.
Stacy Bedford, 41, New Albany, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Bedford will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer John Hennessy of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bedford for the offense.
Edward Howard, 47, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; he will be sentenced on December 23, 2013. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Howard for the offense.
Tyler Kutz, 27, Canton, PA, charged with Access Device Fraud in July 2013 by Trooper Michael Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 24 months. While on probation, Kutz will be subject to supervision, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Kutz must perform 40 hours of community service as a condition of ARD placement.
Taylor Machmer, 19, Canton, PA, charged with the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in July 2013 by the Canton Police Department, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Machmer will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Wells must perform 40 hours of community service as a condition of ARD placement.
Samuel Melgar-Diaz, 43, Wysox, PA, charged with the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in July 2013 by Sergeant David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Melgar-Diaz will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Melgar-Diaz must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel as conditions of ARD placement; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days.
Julie M. Stein, 25, Troy, PA, charged with the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in June 2013 by Trooper John Youngblood of the Pennsylvania State Police, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Stein will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Stein must perform community service as a condition of ARD placement.
Kasey L. Vanhousen, 24, Athens, PA, charged with the offense of Hindering Apprehension in July 2013 by Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Vanhousen must perform community service as a condition of ARD placement.
William J. Weidman, 30, New Albany, PA, charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in May 2013 by Trooper Michael Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Weidman will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Weidman must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel as conditions of ARD placement; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days.
Christopher G. Weldy, 40, Burlington, PA, charged with the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol by the Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Weldy will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Weldy must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel as conditions of ARD placement; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days.
Jessica Williams, 29, Waverly, NY, charged with the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in May 2013 by Sergeant Stephen Burlingame of the Sayre Borough Police Department, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Williams will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Williams must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel as conditions of ARD placement.
