New Albany man charged with false reports

Scott Edward Morrow, 36, of New Albany has been charged with giving false reports to police after his vehicle struck a business sign along U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township, police said.

Morrow was traveling west on Route 6 at 2 a.m. on Nov. 2 when he tried to burn out the tires of the 2008 Dodge Ram that he was driving, police said.

The vehicle traveled onto the western berm of Route 6 and then it traveled onto a grassy area and struck the Middendorf business sign at 31305 Route 6 with its front-end area, police said.

Morrow then drove approximately two miles west on Route 6, hid his vehicle behind the NAPA Auto Parts store, and fled on foot, police said.

Police later determined that Morrow had made a false report of his vehicle being stolen, state police said.

Morrow was charged Thursday with false reports, fleeing the scene of an accident, and several traffic violations, state police at Towanda said.

Vehicle rolls onto driver's side in Towanda Twp.

Nancy J. Tucker, 47, of Wysox was involved a recent motor vehicle accident in Towanda Township in which her vehicle overturned onto its side, police said.

Tucker was driving north on Liberty Corners Road when she lost control of her vehicle on a left-hand curve in the road, police said. Tucker was traveling too fast at the time, police said.

Tucker's 2001 Pontiac Montana went off the east side of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned onto the driver's side, police said.

Tucker, who suffered a moderate injury, was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Towanda, police said.

Tucker exhibited signs of impairment, police said.

Charges will be pending the results of a blood test that was performed on Tucker, police said.

The accident occurred at 11:04 a.m. on Monday, state police at Towanda said.

Man arrested for DUI in Wyalusing

John C. O'Mara, 28, of Laceyville was recently arrested for DUI after the vehicle he was driving was observed weaving on the roadway, police said.

The incident occurred at 7:55 p.m. on Nov. 29 at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and state Route 706 in Wyalusing Borough, state police at Towanda said.

Charges will be filed in Wysox District Court, police said.

Burglary reported in Ridgebury Twp.

State police said they are trying to determine who committed a burglary at 2387 Bucks Creek Road in Ridgebury Township.

The crime occurred sometime between Nov. 8, 2012 and Nov. 8, 2013, state police said.

Items stolen in E. Smithfield

State police said they are trying to determine who stole a Bush Master Bow and a purple and green chainsaw from a garage on Main Street in East Smithfield, police said.

The garage is owned by a 34-year-old man, state police said.

The theft occurred at approximately 1 p.m. Thursday, state police said.

$1,152 stolen from Dushore man

Matthew Luke Pollack, 45, of Dushore was the victim of a theft, police said.

State police said they are trying to determine who removed $1,152.46 from Pollack's account.

State police said the theft involved access device fraud.

The theft occurred between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Nov. 29, police said.

Gas stolen in Towanda Twp.

A 68-year-old Towanda Township man reported that someone removed approximately five gallons of gas from his vehicle, police said.

The theft occurred at approximately 10 a.m. on Nov. 27 at a location on Bridge Hill Road, state police said.

Shotgun found in Wysox Twp.

State police said they have located a Charles Daly, Advantage Timber 20 gauge shotgun along Brown Hill Road in Wysox Township.

The gun was located at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, three-tenths of a mile from Fall Run Road, state police said.
