DUI charge
The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Mark D. Brundage, 29, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., by Athens Borough police, on March 9, on Spruce Street in Athens. Brundage has also been charged with disorderly conduct, careless driving, speeding and failure to use a turn signal. Brundage admitted to consuming alcohol and submitted to a blood alcohol test to determine his blood alcohol content. Brundage was arraigned March 9 by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. Brundage is scheduled to appear March 18 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
Waverly police make arrests
Waverly village police recently made the following arrests, according to a release from the Waverly Police Department:
Brian L. Dusek, 44, of Waverly, on Feb. 20, for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and a headlight violation, following a traffic stop on Broad Street. Dusek was released to appear March 6 in Waverly Village Court.
Justin R. Morey, 22, of Chemung, N.Y., on March 2, for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to comply with police, and related traffic violations, following a traffic stop on Broad Street. Morey was released to appear March 13 in Waverly Village Court.
Lester D. Walters, 34, of Sayre, on Feb. 28, for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and related traffic violations, following a traffic stop on Elizabeth Street. Walters was released to appear March 13 in Waverly Village Court.
Kevin Fiske, 36, of Sayre, on March 9, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, following a traffic stop on Broad Street. Fiske is scheduled to appear March 20 in Waverly Village Court.
Melody Rose Vicioso, 38, of Owego, N.Y., on March 10, on an outstanding arrest warrant, at the Tioga County Jail. Police said Vicioso is accused of writing bad checks to two village businesses and committing petit larceny at another village business. Vicioso was arraigned in Waverly Village Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $5,000 bail to await further court action.
Meagan A. Drislane, 20, of Sayre, on March 7, on a bench warrant for a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Drislane was remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $580 bail.
Jay Stedge, 25, of Waverly, on Feb. 26, for cruelty to animals and failure to provide care and shelter for two dogs, following police investigation into a report of two dogs that had been left outside without shelter, food or water. Police said officials observed the two dogs outside and chained to a fence. The dogs' chains had become tangled, causing them to be unable to move from each other, and both dogs were covered in snow and shivering, police said. Stedge was issued tickets to appear March 13 in Waverly Village Court.
Two arrested for stolen vehicle possession
Two Athens males were recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Devin L. Hubert, 18, and Kenneth A. Hopson, 17, were both charged with fleeing from police.
Police said the two were arrested following a vehicle stop on Broad Street Extension in the town of Barton. Hubert and Hopson were observed operating the stolen vehicle on Route 17C near Shepard Road and failed to stop for county sheriff's deputies and Waverly police officers, according to police. The vehicle finally stopped on Broad Street Extension, where both defendants were taken into custody, police said.
Hubert and Hopson were both arraigned in Barton Town Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
