Bird bath stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police are investigating the theft of a bird bath decoration from a home in the 1000 block of West Willow Street.

The decoration, described as having a bowl on top in the shape of a pedestal and a concrete base in the shape of a classical column or pillar, is believed to have been stolen between 8 p.m. Sunday and 2:20 p.m. Monday.

Anyone with information in regard to the theft is requested to contact the department.

Crash

STONINGTON - Brittany A. Sodrick, 22, of Dalmatia, suffered moderate injuries when the 1998 Ford Escort she was driving veered from Route 3004 near the Line Mountain Race Track, Little Mahanoy Township.

Sodrick's vehicle rolled over and struck a tree. She was taken by AREA Services Ambulance to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital where she was treated and released.

State police said Sodrick will be cited with a summary traffic violation.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Mark E. Barvitskie, 55, of 314 S. Coal St. was cited for harassment by city police Chief Darwin Tobias III after he allegedly threatened to assault a female through a voicemail message and made threatening statements to others about her at 9:42 p.m. Thursday.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township police said a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were charged with disorderly conduct after they engaged in a fight inside the Shamokin Area Middle/High School at around 11 a.m. April 30.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN - City police cited Brett Wolfgang, 22, of 1016 W. Independence St., Coal Township, for retail theft after allegedly stealing $7.53 worth of candy from the Dollar General store on Independence Street on March 14. The citation was filed by Patrolman William Zalinski.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Court of Common Pleas in Towanda:

Craig P. Wassana, 44, of Weatherford, Okla., was sentenced to 30 days incarceration for failing to report to serve a sentence for Driving under the Influence. Wassana was sentenced on April 11, 2011 to a 10 day to six month sentenced for first offense DUI. Wassana appealed from the conviction, causing a delay in the sentence. When the appeal was denied, Wassana failed to appear and a bench warrant was issued. Wassana was arrested in Oklahoma in March, held on the Pennsylvania warrant then transported to Bradford County. Bradford County Detective, Kyle Wisel filed charges against Wassana for Default in Appearance. Those charges are pending before District Court Judge Jonathan Wilcox.

Levi Sutton, 31, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for seven months to 23 months, 29 days, fines and costs of $750.00 plus court costs, for the offense of Criminal Trespass, felony of the third degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking, misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Christopher Hutchinson of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Sutton for the offense in October 2014.

Andrew Bailey, 27, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 36 months, fines of $500.00, plus court costs and restitution of $160.00, for the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver, a felony. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bailey following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Luis Martinez, 32, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for two months to 12 months, fines of $500.00 and court costs for the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Sergeant David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Martinez for the offense in July 1014.

Todd Eccleston, 46, of Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 10 days to six months, fine of $500.00 plus court costs for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Eccleston for the offense in September 2014.

Joshua Lerche, 37, of Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to State Intermediate Punishment for 24 months. State Intermediate Punishment is a two year program. It begins with at least seven months of regular state prison, followed by custody in a drug/alcohol addiction center, followed by restricted living in a residential program. The prison administration must be satisfied that the prisoner has made progress in rehabilitation from substance abuse. If not, the prisoner will be dismissed from S.I.P. and resentenced. If the S.I.P. Program is completed, the prisoner will be under probation supervision for two additional years and checked regularly for drug or alcohol use. If he/she violated during those two years, probation will be revoked and if there is a violation more incarceration will be imposed. Officer Jeremy Horton of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Lerche for the offence on Oct. 19, 2014. Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lerche following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Borough on Sept. 29, 2012.

David Crawn, 26, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Burglary, a felony of the second degree.

Crawn will be sentenced on June 15, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Nathan Ross of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Crawn for the offense in January 2015.

Logan Abbott, 24, Wysox, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Abbott following an investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Curtis Clark, 25, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Clark will be sentenced on June 15, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Keith Roman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Clark following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroe Township.

Randi Potter, 25, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Colleen Rought, 57, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Rought will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Rought must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade, attend a Victim Impact Panel and will lose Pennsylvania driving privileges for 60 days. Trooper William McDermott of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Rought for the offense in Rome Township on Dec. 12, 2014.

Daniel Gonzalez, 35, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Gonzalez will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Gonzalez must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade, attend a Victim Impact Panel. Trooper Christopher Schelling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gonzalez for the offense in Litchfield Township on Feb. 15, 2015.

Joseph Pierce, 31, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation, Pierce will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Trooper Michael O'Boyle of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Pierce for the offense in North Towanda Township on Dec. 1, 2014.

Nicole Brown, 40, Athens, Pa., charged with the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Brown, will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department filed the charges in November 2014 for the offense in Athens Borough.

Hanna Roach, 24, Ulster, Pa., charged with the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Roach will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges in January 2015 for the offense in Athens Township.

Simple assault

COAL TOWNSHIP - Shane Geary, 31, of 1439 W. Fern St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting his live-in girlfriend, Tara Duzick, 31, at their residence shortly before midnight Sunday.

Police reported Geary allegedly pushed Duzick off a bed, poured beer over her head, called her obscenities, shoved her again and bit her finger, causing a bleeding injury.

Geary was committed to Snyder County Prison on a probation detainer.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Lois A. Villari, 50, of 226 W. Dewart St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for harassment for allegedly shoving William Tinley, 57, of the same address, in the chest at 7 p.m. Sunday at their residence.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Scott A. Beaver, 45, of 124 E. Chestnut St., Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Bryan Primerano for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness relating to a disturbance at 9:41 p.m. Sunday at Lincoln and Washington streets.

Police reported Beaver shouted obscenities while being under the influence.

Lockwood man charged with paraphernalia possession

Sayre Borough Police charged Bryan Richard Benninger, 23, of Lockwood, N.Y., with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on May 8 on Bradford Street in Sayre, according to Sayre police.

Police saw a vehicle make a sharp turn onto Bradford Street and strike a curb that resulted in sparks flying out from under the vehicle, police said.

Police said when following the vehicle, marijuana odors were present and upon stopping the vehicle, police noticed the smell even more and that it was emanating from the vehicle.

When a passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Benninger, opened the glove box to find registration papers, police noticed a small metallic object with a skull on it, police said.

Police said the item was believed to be a grinder used to grind marijuana into smaller pieces and asked Benninger to hand it over.

Police confirmed the grinder as drug paraphernalia and asked Benninger to step out of the vehicle where they inquired about drugs in the car, police said,

Benninger told police there were no more drugs in the car, but a tin container may have contained marijuana residue, police said.

The tin was empty and no other drugs or paraphernalia were found in the vehicle, police said.

Police said the vehicle smelled very strongly of marijuana and a six-year-old boy was in the vehicle as well.

Benninger has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on June 23 for his preliminary hearing.

Burglary occurs in Athens Twp.

Athens Township Police are investigating a burglary at a seasonal hunting residence in the township.

According to Athens police, the actor or actors entered the Murray Creek Road residence sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on May 4.

Two flat screen TVs, person property, and a black Bersa semi-automatic .380 caliber handgun were taken, police said.

Police said the actor or actors fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means.

Juvenile cited for disorderly conduct

A 15-year-old male juvenile was cited by state police recently on a charge of disorderly conduct.

According to police, the juvenile had returned home around 7 p.m. on May 6 after being considered a runaway for three days. Police said they arrived at the juvenile's home, intending to interview him which would allow them to remove his name from the National Crime Information Center network as a missing person. But when they arrived, police continued, the juvenile jumped out the window and fled on foot. Police said they pursued the juvenile, and eventually apprehended him and returned him home.

Two-vehicle crash reported

No injuries were reported when a two-vehicle crash occurred recently on York Avenue near Hospital Drive.

According to state police, Julie A. Powers, 28, of Athens, was driving a 2008 Toyota Camry around 3 p.m. on May 6 on U.S. Route 6 when her vehicle struck the rear of a 2008 Jeep Liberty operated by Robert J. Weiss, 70, of Monroeton, who had stopped, intending to turn left into Hurley's parking lot. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts when the accident occurred, police said. Powers was cited for operating a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

Woman accused of harassment

A Towanda woman was recently cited by state police on a charge of harassment.

According to police, Cynthia Charmaine Thames, 58, of Towanda, was cited for the above offense around 11 a.m. on May 5. Thames is accused of verbally harassing Colleen Denise Roujght, 57, of Towanda, during an argument on Liberty Lane in Asylum Township.

Burglary investigated

State police are investigating a commericial burglary that occurred recently in Wysox Township.

According to police, perpetrators removed approximately $3,420 in equipment from Wysox Sand and Gravel, located on Leisure Drive. The incident occurred between 4:30 p.m. on May 5, and 1 p.m. on May 7. The thieves removed parts used in a 3-ton asphalt mixer, including 20 mixer tips, 18 mixer arms, and two wear plates. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at (570) 265-2816.

Theft reported

State police are looking for an unidentified male suspected of stealing a money bag from the Sears store in Wysox Township.

According to police, the perpetrator stole the bag from the safe in the store between 5 p.m. on April 16 and 9 a.m. on April 17. The bag contained $1,851 in currency, and a check for $100. Police said interviews are still being conducted at this time.

DUI charge

The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Daryl James Dieffenbach, 41, of Wyalusing, was also charged by state police with careless driving. Dieffenbach was charged by the state police following a traffic stop on U.S. Route 220 near Kellogg Road in Monroe Township. After being taken into custody, Dieffenbach was transported to Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital, where he agreed to submit to a blood test. The test eventually revealed that Dieffenbach's blood alcohol content was .164 percent on the day of his arrest.

Athens man charged in domestic disturbance

Evrald Mombo, 26, of Athens, was charged by Athens Borough Police with attempted simple assault and physical harassment after an altercation on May 12 in Athens, police said.

According to police, police were dispatched to Twin Rivers Terrace on Spruce Street in Athens at about 1:12 a.m. for a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, police saw Mombo holding his 2-month old daughter and fighting with the female victim, police said.

Police said the victim arrived home from shopping with a neighbor and found Mombo passed out on the couch.

The victim told police Mombo got off the couch, grabbed his child, and started a verbal argument with the victim, police said.

Police said Mombo placed his hands around the victim's neck but she broke free and began stomping to alert neighbors below of the incident.

The victim told police Mombo slapped the left side of her face, which police said was very red.

Police said when outside of the apartment, Mombo tried to kick the victim down the steps twice while he was holding his child.

Mombo was remanded to Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Mombo will appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on May 26 for his preliminary hearing.

Wyalusing DUI

Nathan James Murray, 39, of Wyalusing has been charged with driving while under the influence relating to an April 26 incident on State Route 6 in Wyalusing Township.

According to police, Murray was pulled over for failing to maintain travel within a single lane and during the course of the stop showed signs of intoxication.

Police said Murray was placed under arrest for DUI and was transported to the Towanda Memorial Hospital for a blood test.

Charges were filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.

Truck vandalized in Albany Township

Police said a Ford F150 belonging to Jason Wesley Keeney, 40, of New Albany was scratched with a key sometime between the dates of May 8 at 5 p.m. and May 10 at noon at 4262 State Route 220 in Albany Township.

Police said the truck was keyed on the driver and passenger side doors.

Suspected burglary in Windham Township

State police are currently investigating the report of a burglary that occurred at the residence of Samuel Stephen Scarantino, 54, on Cotton Hollow Road in Windham Township between the dates of April 25 and May 9.

Police said an unknown person made an unlawful entry to a premise and caused damage in the process.

Credit card fraud

State police are investigating a report of a stolen credit card, belonging to Kimberly Ann Horne, 49, of Warren Center, which was used to purchase $1,845.50 in merchandise from a store in Las Vegas, Nev.

Police said the incident occurred on April 24.

Rock thrown through truck window in Windham Township

According to police, a rock was thrown through the rear window of a 1999 Dodge Durango owned by Cindy Lou Raymond, 56, of Rome, while the vehicle was parked along the Battle Creek Road in Windham Township on May 1 at 10:55 p.m..

Woman charged with scattering rubbish

Marilyn Mosher, 25, of Wyalusing has been charged by state police with illegally dumping multiple bags of trash along Divine Road in Stevens Township on May 4.

Police said charges were filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.

Man charged after pushing woman

William Edward Bossong Jr., 56, of Wyalusing has been charged with harassment relating to a May 2 incident on Front Street in Wyalusing Township.

According to police, Bossong walked over to Jane Sharon McCann, 57, of Wyalusing, and shoved her.

Bank card theft

COAL TOWNSHIP - Levi Jacob Reigle, 23, of 1244 Chemung St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky with theft for allegedly stealing a bank card from his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Klemick, and using it to withdraw $100 from her account at M&T Bank on April 14.

Marijuana charge

COAL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Jason Adams has charged Eli Long, 23, of 1187 Bear Valley Road, Coal Township, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia involving an April 30 incident at Mulberry and Maple streets.

Police said Long possessed marijuana in a small metal container, a rolled marijuana cigarette and two glass smoking pipes.

Crash near mall

HUMMELS WHARF - Two people were injured Tuesday in a crash at the traffic light at the entrance to the Susquehanna Valley Mall and Walmart Supercenter on Routes 11-15.

State police at Selinsgrove said John Bickert, 48, of Shamokin, was driving a 1993 Ford south about 7 p.m. when he failed to stop for a red light. Bickert's vehicle struck a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan driven across the highway from Walmart toward the mall by Holly R. Kerstetter, 59, of Port Trevorton.

Bickert and a passenger in the van, Abigail Kerstetter, 20, of Port Trevorton, were injured and taken by ambulance to local hospitals. Holly Kerstetter was not injured, police said. An investigation continues.

Public drunkenness

COAL TOWNSHIP - Police cited a man for public drunkenness for an incident at 10:59 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of West Lynn Street.

Officers were dispatched for an intoxicated male knocking on doors in the area. Charles Amos Troup III, 21, was found staggering down Water Street near Poplar Street, and showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance, police said. Troup told police he was homeless, but last lived in Shamokin.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Todd M. Hummel, 49, of 124 E. Chestnut St., was cited by Shamokin Police Patrolman Raymond Siko II for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after allegedly being found lying in a public area on Terrace Avenue under the influence of alcohol at 5:47 p.m. Monday.

Siding damaged

UPPER PAXTON TOWNSHIP - Ronald Klinger, of Dalmatia, reported to state police at Lykens someone damaged the vinyl siding of a detached shed on a property he owns on Paxton Drive, Upper Paxton Township, Dauphin County, between 3:35 p.m. May 5 and 6 p.m. May 6.

Disturbance caused

State police at Towanda said Colette Marie Fluck, 50, of Ulster, caused a disturbance, while under the influence of alcohol, at 10:15 p.m. May 5 on Bourne Mills Road in West Burlington Township.

Rubbish scattered

State police at Towanda said someone threw several bags of garbage over an embankment at 10 a.m. May 8 on Lynch Road in Burlington Township.

Police said the victim was Gerald Landis, 54, of Towanda.

No injuries

State police at Towanda said no one was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred May 9 on Austinville Road in Columbia Township.

According to police, the driver, Damien M. Avery, 27, of Millerton, was traveling west in a Suzuki Aerio, when he lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons. Police said it then struck a ditch on the westbound shoulder, with its front end/front passenger side quarter panel area, and came to final rest, facing west on the westbound shoulder of the road.

Police said the driver and the two passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

Citation filed

State police at Towanda said a non-traffic citation for summary public drunkenness has been filed against Keith Reininghaus, 46, of Troy, through Magisterial District Court 42-3-01.

According to police, Reininghaus was walking along Route 6, while under the influence of alcohol to the degree that he may have endangered himself, at approximately 10:27 p.m. May 7 in Troy Township.

Wallet lost

State police at Towanda said an 18-year-old Columbia Cross Roads woman lost a brown-colored women's wallet sometime May 10 at the Mansfield Walmart in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Anyone who recovers the wallet should contact state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186.

Items removed

State police at Towanda said someone entered a PennDOT shed sometime between April 24 and April 27 on Grover Road in Canton Township and removed some items from within the shed.

Police said a suspect has been identified, and is being investigated.

Man charged

State police at Towanda said misdemeanor harassment charges were filed on April 28 against Gary Page, 42, of Millerton, after he sent Helen Parker, 50, of Canton more than 180 unwanted text messages.

Police said the incident took place between 8 a.m. Jan. 3 and 11 p.m. Feb. 11 on Grantier Lane in Canton Township.

Field damaged

State police at Towanda said they are investigating an incident that took place April 11 on Byers Road in South Creek Township in which a 17-year-old Gillett male used a vehicle to damage a farm field owned by a local farmer.

Woman charged with access device fraud

Cheryl J. Nienhueser, 43, of Gillett, faces a preliminary hearing at 3:30 p.m. May 27 before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy on a charge of access device fraud for incidents that took place Feb. 26, Feb. 27, and March 4 on Thompson Hill Road in Ridgebury Township, according to court papers.

The papers note that Cheryl J. Nienhueser used an access device, a bank card, to obtain or attempt to obtain online payments to Tri-Co Electric in the amounts of $300, $300, and $534.32 and Old Navy for $245.09, with the knowledge that the access device was issued to another person, Ira Nienhueser Jr., no age given, of Thompson Hill Road, Gillett, who did not authorize its use.

Wilcox said her ROR bail was set and posted.

Drug charges

SHAMOKIN - Georgina M. Dewitt, 32, of 616 E. Cameron St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia involving an incident at 8:11 p.m. Monday at her residence.

In addition to marijuana, police found two glass smoking pipes at the home.

The charges were filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III.

Drug paraphernalia

MARION HEIGHTS - A Marion Heights couple were charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman David Tomtishen with possessing drug paraphernalia at their residence April 30.

Police reported Debbi J. Wolfe, 55, and her husband, Michael Anthony Wolfe, 58, of 437 E. Melrose St., are accused of possessing a four-inch straw with a white powdery substance stuck to both ends.

Anthra Plaza crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash shortly before noon Friday at the intersection of Route 901 and the entrance to the Anthra Plaza.

Coal Township Patrolman Chris Williams reported Charles H. Engelberger, of Ashland, had his 1990 Jeep Cherokee stopped for a stop sign on the off ramp of Route 61 leading to Route 901 when he pulled out into the intersection. Police said Engelberger pulled his Jeep into the path of a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Michael T. Kleman, of Kulpmont, who was traveling east on Route 901.

The collision resulted in extensive damage to Kleman's truck and moderate damage to the Jeep. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Williams said Engelberger will be cited for duties at a stop sign.

Williams, Engelberger and passengers in the vehicles escaped injury.

While on probation, Turner will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Turner must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Rodney Babcock, 53, Rome, Pa., charged with the offense of Unsworn Falsification, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation Babcock will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police Department arrested Babcock for the offense in September 2014 in Orwell Township.

Dustin James Onofre, 24, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 10 months to 23 months followed by Probation supervision for a term of seven years, fines of $1,500, plus court costs, for the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver (Heroin), a felony, Criminal use of a Commutations Facility, a felony. Michael Engle, 31, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Engle will be sentenced on June 29, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Engle for the offense on Feb. 8, 2015.

Brian Van Dyke, 34, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Placement in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program

Patricia Stroud, 51, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. Zachary Chilson, 21, Rome, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Chilson will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Chilson must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Chilson for the offense.

Guilty Pleas

Daniel Bell, 65, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Sexual Abuse of Children (Possession of Pornography), a felony of the third degree, two counts of Possession of a Firearm by Person Convicted of a listed misdemeanor, misdemeanors of the first degree, two counts of Interrupting Communications, a felony of the third degree. Bell will be sentenced on May 18, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Detective Albert Ogden of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bell for the offense in September 2014.

Martin Miller, 44, Ulster, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Miller will be sentenced on July 6, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Miller for the offense in November.

Martin W. Miller, 44, Ulster, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Accident Resulting in Death, a felony of the second degree (leaving the scene of a fatal accident). Miller will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Richter of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Miller following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ulster Township.

SUNBURY - Eleven defendants, including several charged with driving under the influence, were sentenced Monday in the Court of Common Pleas.

n Jeremy Henninger, 31, of Wilburton, was sentenced by President Judge William Wiest to 21 to 60 months in state prison on a charge of unlawful contact with a minor. He was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs and must comply with Megan's Law registration requirements. Henninger must avoid contact with anyone under the age of 18 unless authorized by supervised authorities.

Wiest also sentenced Henninger on a charge of corruption of minors to 1 to 3 years in state prison. That sentence, which involves a $100 fine plus costs, runs concurrent to the previous sentence.

Henninger, who was given credit for 387 days previously served in prison, was charged by state police at Stonington in connection with a Feb. 18, 2014, incident.

n Wiest sentenced Mitchell Shields, 21, of Altoona, to 1 to 3 years in state prison on possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance relating to an Aug. 10 incident in Mount Carmel. Shields was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus costs.

Shields, who was given credit for 274 days previously served in prison, also received concurrent similar sentences for two additional counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance that call for a total of $1,000 in fines plus costs.

n Jason Attinger, 44, of Sunbury, was sentenced by Wiest to 6 months intermediate punishment with the first 30 days on house arrest for DUI in connection with a June 26 incident. State police at Stonington filed the charge.

Attinger was fined $1,000 plus costs and had his driver's license suspended for one year.

n James Williams Jr., 51, of Williamsport, was sentenced by the president judge to 6 months intermediate punishment with the first 30 days on house arrest and fined $1,000 plus costs for DUI. Williams will lose his driver's license for one year.

Wiest also imposed a similar concurrent sentence for driving under suspension that involves a $500 fine.

The charges were filed by Shamokin police relating to a June 18 incident.

n Wiest sentenced Chad Sienkiewicz, 21, of Shamokin, to 6 months intermediate punishment with the first 30 days on house arrest for DUI relating to a July 8 incident in Shamokin. He also was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus costs and had his driver's license suspended for one year.

n Nathan Piestrak, 26, of Danville, was sentenced by Wiest to 6 months intermediate punishment with first 30 days on house arrest for DUI involving a Sept. 9, 2012, incident in Ralpho Township. Piestrak was fined $300 plus costs and will lose his driver's license for one year.

n Heather Troutman, 23, of Coal Township, was sentenced by Wiest to 23 months intermediate punishment with the first 90 days on house arrest for corruption of minors. She also was fined $100 plus costs and ordered to comply with Megan's Law registration requirements.

Troutman was charged by Shamokin police in connection with a March 7, 2014, incident.

n Wiest sentenced Corey McCabe, 28, of Shamokin, to 6 months intermediate punishment with the first 30 days on house arrest for DUI. He was fined $500 plus costs and had his driver's license suspended for one year.

McCabe was charged by Shamokin police relating to a Nov. 16 incident.

n Judge Charles Saylor sentenced Jason Houtz, 37, of Trevorton, to 6 months intermediate punishment with the first 30 days on house arrest for DUI relating to a Sept. 21 incident in Coal Township. Houtz must pay a $500 fine plus costs and will lose his driver's license for one year.

n Patrick Surace, 49, of Mount Carmel, was sentenced by Saylor to 3 days to 6 months in county prison and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus costs for DUI. He also will lose his driver's license for one year.

Surace was charged by Kulpmont police involving a July 21 incident.

n Christopher Fausnaught, 44, of Paxinos, was sentenced by Saylor to 2 years probation and fined $100 for simple assault relating to a Jan. 2 disturbance in Ralpho Township. He also must pay $14,172 in restitution to Geisinger Health System and/or the victim, Lewis Weikel. Fausnaught is prohibited from having contact with Weikel.

Saylor also sentenced Fausnaught to 1 year probation, fined him $50 and ordered him to pay $296.83 in restitution to Nottingham Estates in Elysburg for criminal mischief in connection with the same incident. That sentence runs concurrent to the previous sentence.
